- From US$420.75 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 227 reviewsOnly a few minutes out of Montville, but you feel like you are far, far away from the rest of the world. It's beautiful and so peaceful, and I felt like I could stay there forever. The view of the mini- lake, complete with lily pads and frogs, from the bedroom and living room was wonderful. Absolutely recommend 100% if you are looking for an escape. I think it's particularly suited to romantic escapes! The owner/ managers take excellent care of you without being even slightly intrusive. Hot, fresh baked croissants hung quietly and unobtrusively on your door every morning for breakfast! So many thoughtful little touches in the cottage, including a freshly laid fire ready to light! And you don't even notice other guests! I particularly loved how many birds were on the property, whipbirds, kookaburras, currawongs, butcher birds, frogmouths (I saw 4!) Yellow tailed black cockatoos, sulfer crested cockatoos, pale headed rosella, ibis, doves, ducks to name a few... It's perfectly located to explore the sunshine coast hinterland, but if you were so inclined you could never leave the property for your whole stay! Just a note for anyone trying to work on holiday, there's no wifi and certain mobile sim cards will drop in and out of service, just as they do in the whole hinterland area. I'm not putting this in the category of things I disliked because it was not important to me.Guest review byMaryamUnited Arab Emirates
- From US$164.77 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 701 reviewsWe are over from the Uk visiting our son and family who live on the Sunshine Coast. We wanted to have a short break away and chose The Clouds because we loved the idea of being in the rain forest. We stayed in one of the deluxe cottages which are separate from the main hotel and you really feel in the rain forest! The cottage was very comfortable and clean with a lovely comfy large bed. The bath in the room was great too and so lovely to look out on the lush canopy listening to the sounds of the forest. The air conditioning worked well but we also loved sitting out on the verandah too!( don’t forget to bring insect repellent if you want to sit out in the evening) The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to make a basic supper/ breakfast ! The staff, including Susie, Bree and the cleaners were very helpful and a pleasure to deal with.Guest review bySerenaUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 102 reviewsThe organisation was meticulous, from the welcome message, to the entry/check-in instructions, to the breakfasts provided by the local cafe - I preferred to take a walk through the orchard to get mine but you can have yours delivered to your room if you like. The villa was immaculate with wonderful facilities, fabulous views of the bushland, comfortable sofas & beds, a lovely fireplace, & very, very private, despite the floor to ceiling windows on 2 sides. The setting in a Mango Orchard, surrounded by the stunning beauty of the Glass House Mountains makes this a must stay experience if you’re visiting the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for!Guest review bySteveUnited Arab Emirates
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 92 reviewsOur stay at Narrows Escape was pure perfection! The service was beyond exceptional—we were treated to complimentary champagne, chocolates, roses, cheese, and freshly baked croissants every morning. They even offered personal drives into town and on excursions, making our stay effortless, luxurious and well worth it. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, and the hospitality was truly five-star. Montville is also a really cute little town with good restaurants and services, would come back!Guest review byMattFrance
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 562 reviewsMaleny Tropical Retreat is a gem. The place has been curated with authentic Balinese furniture and decor, creating a unique, calming environment. The place is well laid out, clean and very comfortable. The star of the show is the amazing view from the patio, overlooking the mountains and Baroon lake. The host and owner, Ken, was kind and made us feel very welcome. The continental breakfast supplied was great. We will definitely return.Guest review byBrianaCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 148 reviewsEverything was amazing! The location is great and close to Maleny and Montville for little trips as well as finding waterfalls. The cottage was spectacular and the views from the daybed were magical, especially when I fractured my ankle on a walk and had to spend the next day relaxing out on the balcony. Daily breakfast delivered to the room was delicious and the service and care from Emily was beyond expectations.Guest review byDenikaAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 240 reviewsIt was so much more than we expected. The walk down to the cottage was a delight and our Hosts Alen an Ayrna just topped of our stay. Plus it's the attention to detail that really makes this place so special. You also have plenty to do with in a short drive to keep you occupied if just relaxing in your cottage isn't enough to fill your time.Guest review byKarenAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 156 reviewsThe breakfast was absolutely fabulous. It was a typical French breakfast. Cooked and prepared beautifully and served perfectly. So much attention to detail is exactly what makes this auberge stand out from the crowd.Guest review byMrsFrance

I love the wonderful natural settings in and around montville and Maleny. We dipped in three separate rock pools with waterfalls during our stay. That's special! Gardners Falls, etc. Lovely bush walks through the National Parks, especially Booloumba Creek. Lots of different bird life, especially the songs of the bell and whip birds. We had great meals provided at our accommodation, Montville Country Cabins so we didn't eat out. We also took our own picnic basket and hamper so that we could enjoy more time in Nature. A car, preferably 4WD is essential to make the most of the area.Guest review bykeithAustralia - 10.0
Maleny is a quaint, beautiful and magical place.
Maleny is a quaint, beautiful and magical place. We loved the trail from the property into town, loved to walk around the little boutique shops and also great that all amenities can be bought there. The pharmacy isn't open on Sunday's so take note. We recommend booking restaurants ahead of time.Guest review byKelly FenningAustralia - 8.0

Nambour is an old established town but it provides easy and quick access to the Sunshine Coast( around 20 mins to the Sunshine Coast airport) where accommodation could be considerably more expensive. My stay in the Nambour Heights Motel was directly opposite the Nambour Hospital and relatively close to other places in the area. It was 11 minutes from the Buderim Ginger Factory and very close to the Big Pineapple. Also close to the Bli Bli water ski park which appeared to be a huge complex.Guest review byMichaelAustralia - 10.0

The main attraction in Beerwah is Australia Zoo but we actually skipped the zoo this time and opted out for a quieter and more peaceful trip. There are so many beautiful landscapes and walks to enjoy in the area and it's only a short drive to Maleny or Montville as well. If you are seeking a relaxing experience, I'd definitely recommend visiting those two little towns. We enjoyed the Thai Restaurant in Maleny and strolls through the streets of Montville followed by a hearty lunch at The Edge Restaurant. We also visited the Botanic Gardens & Bird Sanctuary in Maleny which was AMAZING!Guest review byLisaGermany - 10.0
My favourite Italian restaurant was open.
My favourite Italian restaurant was open. So a hot pizza on a cold night made all the difference to our stay. The local store has a great variety of foods for snacks or dinner and then it's nice just to walk around and explore the town.Guest review byGrahamAustralia - 10.0
What a beautiful area.
What a beautiful area. Coming froM SA were we are in drought it was great rto see everything so green and lush. Many little quaint towns to visit. With many eateries and gorgeous shops We dined at the glass house mountain Tavern food was delicious and reasonably priced.Guest review byChristineAustralia - 10.0
Hiking in the area is always fantastic.
Hiking in the area is always fantastic. The shops are quaint and quirky if that's your thing (not really mine) but for me it's the region's nature that keeps me coming back. To that end, there are pretty limited mid-range accommodation options that aren't in the townships. Some areas have more of that sort of thing nestled right among the mountains and forests, whereas in this area that kind of accommodation is harder to find and more expensive - though if you're willing to head down the range to the Eudlo area (it's only a 20 minute drive) you can do well staying there and taking day trips up the mountains.Guest review byRobAustralia - 10.0

Excellent stay. Everything was absolutely fantastic. Beautiful home in the most magnificent setting. Everything and more was catered for. Honor was helpful and informative. Very kind. I actually cried the morning we had to leave. Definitely could have stayed, much longer.Guest review byLynneUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Great property for family travelling with ensuite bathrooms.
Great property for family travelling with ensuite bathrooms. The property is dated but it meats the style of an old Queenslander. If it was modernised would spoil character.Great wrap round verandah which is gated and can be closed off for young children to safely play. Plenty of utensils and crockery etc in the kitchen, some older adding to the character Will be back to explore this property walking opportunities, dam, ,cattle and horse furtherGuest review byLorraineAustralia - 10.0

Beautiful views, friendly and helpful people especially cafe/restaurant/shop assistants. Easy to get around. Good for retail therapy. Was a trip down memory lane for me hence just driving around to Baroon Dam, Maleny - for a bit of retail therapy too, and surrounding areas was great. Did not make it to Kondalillia Falls unfortunately this time.Guest review byAnonymous
