- From US$408 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 415 reviewsLocated directly at the Salt Flats with an unblocked view to the Salt Flats and to the sunset, built from salt blocks like an palace for a king, it is absolutely impressive. The facilities and the services exceeds any ratings. You feel like in paradise. They have their own travel in-house travel company, Abigail Hidalgo Corp., who have arranged on short notice an unforgettable tour for me. The evening Buffet was also very impressive.Guest review bySiegfriedGermany
- From US$185 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 29 reviewsThis is a special place, not to be missed if good fortune brings you to Bolivia. An excellently maintained original hacienda, with outstanding small museum/chapel, it maintains the ambience of the colonial ruling families lifestyle. The setting at the end of an isolated valley itself is an experience. It is truly unique. English limited.Guest review bystuartUnited States
- From US$234 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 297 reviewsIt was a one of a kind hotel in the middle of nowhere built from salt blocks. The interior was very tastefully decorated with small alcoves along a long corridor with big log heaters. Rooms very comfortable and clean. Lovely view all around. Good breakfast. Helpful staff.Guest review byMicheleHong Kong

Loved this hotel its unique, great location and very big free breakfast buffet. They let us checkin early and also arranged an airport taxi for us. Rooms are really really big and comfy. Only downfall is not every room has ac so we actually switched rooms. Both equally nice. Would recommend to stay here! We had only one night and booked a day trip to the salt flats. One night in the town of Uyuni was enough for us as it’s kind of in shambles.Guest review bychristinaUnited States - 8.0
Potosí is all about Cerro Rico and its vast mining...
Potosí is all about Cerro Rico and its vast mining operations, historically base for the region’s and the Spanish wealth. Today, Potosí has lost the base of its wealth, but still has some charm. A visit to the mines is highly recommended and should be done with appreciation of the thousands of miners still try to make a living from the mountain.Guest review byAndreasSwitzerland - 8.0

Colchani is best for upscale lodgings for visiting the Salar. The only recommended places to eat are at the hotels. But make sure you bring all you need from Uyuni before you stay at Colchani. But souvenirs and beautiful wool clothing you can get at the market in Colchani.Guest review byAngelaPanama - 10.0

We went two days to see see some pretty well-pronounced dinosaur footprints, the Umajalanta Caverns and Ciudad de Itas, and finally the Vergel canyon. Both the Caverns and the Vergal are exhausting, heavy walks, warm, the caverns you need to use ropes and get down to and get through narrow passages, but good fun and worth it.Guest review byMatsBolivia - 10.0

Hotels in Colchani are the best location if your target is to visit the Salar de Uyuni. It is right at its limit. And it has local souvenirs, wool clothing on the local market. But It has no grosery stores nor drug stores so you will depend entirely on the hotel or transportation into Uyuni to stack up. And the bus station is at Uyuni.Guest review byAngelaPanama - 10.0
Salar is just an amazing place, a wonder the Word!
Salar is just an amazing place, a wonder the Word! Both when dry, as well as when flooded. Uyuni town very ugly, avoid it is possible, full of dirty roads and dirt in the air, if you are sensitive or allergic, do not go downtown and stay in one of the 3 nicests salt hotels in the Salar outside town. Best restaurant in town is Tika, in the hotel Jardin of Uyuni (nice hotel too)Guest review byLEONARDOUnited States - 10.0
Always tricky to review a whole city.
Always tricky to review a whole city. Few travellers stay anywhere long enough to properly do anywhere justice. Nevertheless. A charming little colonial era city perched high in the mountains, the mining history of the city is a great draw. Once the center of the Spanish empire's silver mining and minting endeavors, the colonial legacy remains in its attractive architecture and mining industry. The other main attraction are the national dish of Saltenas which are often said to the best in the country. I can confirm that there s strength to this argument. The local churches are beautiful and you can get tours of them regularly. The main cathedral is definitely worth a look. The Mint is usually the main attraction and it interesting and well guided. The only killer is the altitude which is breathtaking. Ensure you are acclimatized!Guest review byCameronUnited Kingdom
