The staff is really friendly and very helpful, the rooms are good for a family vacation, the food is fresh and very taste, breakfast is really good too, the place is very, very clean, is not in the heart from the city centre but is very close. Everyone in the hotel was very polite, there is everything you need around the place. I would definitely comeback with my family there.

This place is great, it was the best hotel we stayed in Brazil (we visited 3 different cities, Rio, Natal and Salvador). The hotel is new, the outside area in particular (pool, garden, etc) is amazing, so well maintained and nice.. The pool is huge and even if there are people, it seems still very quiet and relaxing..

This must have been our best 3-4 star hotel in our 4-months south-america-highlights trip. The room with free view of the ocean, the safe hotel location at the beach and the excellent, varied breakfast were superb and memorable. An easy 20 minutes taxi-ride took you to the historical centre of Salvador. Highly recommended!

Beautiful hotel close to the beach. Nice history linked to Vinicius de Moraes. Staff were very friendly. We got upgraded to room number 01 close to reception. The room was spacious and lovely. We came to the hotel to experience all that it had to offer, as we had booked our wedding here in the coming months. Now that we’ve seen it first hand, we couldn’t be more thrilled to celebrate our love here. For those interested in wedding-specific stuff, go to the bottom of the review 👇🏼 The room: Very spacious, huge bed, great for couples. The room also includes a sofa with a desk and a few chairs to do some work if needed. The bathroom is also pretty big and well equipped. Although it doesn’t have a bidet, there is a small convenient shower head next to the toilet. All that separates the bathtub from the actual room is a semitransparent glass. Although not great for privacy, pretty cool for couples. The food: The buffets have an abundance of food, for all tastes and preferences. It’s hard to complain here, and although not the best meals I’ve had in my whole life, there’s always something great to have. And there’s just so much food. You can get even more food near the pool and the beach. When we were there, the hotel was almost at full capacity, and still it was easy to find a table every time. Restaurants: There are 3 restaurants to go to besides the main buffet. They require reservations, and you can book a limited number depending on the length of the stay. When the hotel is near full capacity, they open a a fourth, which was the case when we were there. Bahia e Brasa (Rodizio, beef): the best. Waiters come and offer you different cuts of meat. An amazing experience all in all. Mediterranean: incredible food. Plates are pretty abundant. Japanese: food’s very good. They prepare the plates live which makes for a good show. Poseidon: although the worst of the four, this one is close to the beach so it has some charm. Food is still very good, don’t get me wrong. The beach: With out a doubt, the best part of the hotel. The water is warm but not hot, just the right temperature to refresh you from the scorching weather.

Room and appliances are a bit outdated, but everything was super organized and clean. Bed and linen were super comfortable. Shower pressure was great. The view from the room was perfect to see Band Camarote during Carnival. It may have a nicer view without the Carnival's Camarote structure. Hotel restaurant is a bit expensive, but the food is good. Room service was quite fast and could adapt food allergies. Gym was well equipped - I managed to work out there every morning. It is a great place to stay before the official Carnival week. However, I wouldn't recommend it for the Carnival itself since it get super noisy in the streets and car access is closed.

Ilheus is a small city.

Ilheus is a small city. The central district is walkable and very enjoyable. There is an area a few blocks from the hotel with food trucks, ice cream shops and music. There is a wonderful area a couple of blocks north of the hotel for children to play. There is a Brazilian Churrascaria a couple blocks west from the hotel that had a great buffet with salads and grilled meats. It is only open until 3pm. It was very convenient to have small restaurants in the hotel building. Try the chocolate factory and Bom Bom factory. The South beach has many bars and great seafood.

A lively, bustling area with plenty to go for eating and shopping. It is less urban than Salvador but still very densely populated and active with everything you need close by. I felt safe, especially during the day. I didn't go out at night as much, so I can't comment on that. But it was beautiful and not too far from beaches or other attractions by car or ride share.
