Frankfurt is great and has everything you need. There's a downside that occurs in large cities all over the world, namely the filth and disorder in the city centre, which in Frankfurt is the area around the main train station, Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof; I will never recommend anyone to stay there. You should choose a hotel in Bornheim, Westend or Enkheim instead. If you didn't bring your car you can use trains, buses and underground which are very convenient to travel. Day tickets can be purchased at ticket machines at every station. But in my experience, there have been days when the ticket machines were unavailable. Therefore, if you are in a hurry and don't want to miss your train, you should buy tickets in advance.Guest review byWitidaNetherlands - 10

It is more touristic than I thought, a bit overcrowded for my taste. One reason to not take the cable car up the mountain. If you like crowds and lots of restaurants you're at the right place. Came here for Tradeshow in Frankfurt. Really like that it is only a short walk to train station and only 3 short stops to Messe in Frankfurt. Easy to come here without car. During the week several restaurants are close by within walking distance, but they are all closed on weekends. 15 Minutes walk to center of Eschborn for several restaurants on weekends. Enjoyed these walks after a long day indoors at the tradeshow. It is really easy to get around without car. It is a great town with lots to do along the Rhine. If you are looking for something less sleepy and has more shopping, restaurants and winery this is a great option. All ferries/cruises stop here so it is easy to get to as well. One thing to note is that it gets crowded with the larger river cruises stop for the day or night but we didn't mind as it added a fun energy to the town and the shops were open.Guest review byMeganUnited States
