We arrived at 21:30 in the evening because we had problems on the road and it was impossible to enter the hotel. They close the reception very early, they don't pick up the phone or anser if you ring the door. We stayed 30 min outside in the middle of nowere, worrying that we will have to sleep in the car (Klingenthal is very small). Luckly we found place at Landhotel Gasthof Zwota close by! They really saved us. It was not very clear from booking that Walfish closes so early and that they have this strict check in policy. Also we were charged 50% of the reservation as if we didn't show up. So if you choose to book this place please keep in mind that you have to be there before 20:30, or you will not sleep!

The hotel is in the heart of the place. An old building between an open street and an alley. It has online check-in or direct on-site if you arrive before a certain time (I don't remember the exact time, sorry). The room was beautiful, I really felt in an old age with the furniture and decoration, but the modern bathroom (very nice too). They have a breakfast option in the same hotel restaurant, they also have a bar. Everyone was very friendly from start to finish. Highly Recommended.

Nicely designed tiny home, great for a weekend away. The kitchen is very well equipped and well stocked, with all the basic cooking tools and appliances, as well as standard pantry foods (even some pasta and sauce!). The manager, Jan, is also super friendly and took care of us right away when we needed something.

Bad Elster is a beautiful city with a very nice park and always something to do, even in February. The spa/wellness center is amazing, featuring a sauna world and salt bath. I enjoyed my stay very much.

Formally, Mylau is part of the city of Reichenbach, but in reality it is a separate town located in the valley along the river. On the slope above there are streets with picturesque buildings. There is also a castle on the hill. Mylau is well-kept, the houses look nice, it is worth going for a walk in the morning. Only a few locals can be seen, many have left for the western part of Germany to work.
