This was a wonderful surprise stop after a long day of biking. The staff were friendly and helpful offering me a place to store my bike trailer and very accommodating. They immediately took a reservation for dinner at their restaurant and were very helpful with my dietary restrictions (vegan). I enjoyed being able to watch tennis on tv in the lobby and in my room. Everything was clean and comfortable, I would have stayed longer if I had the time.

This was a last-minute booking and we couldn’t of lucked out more! The place was beautiful. The breakfast for a small additional charge was fantastic as well! The staff was more than helpful and very friendly and we would definitely stay here again. The pool was lovely after a hot day on the beach or sightseeing to enjoy one of our wonderful purchased French wines that we bought that day. it has designated parking and is walkable to everything around the beach, all the restaurants, etc. Thanks Thierry!

Lovely city to visit, just go and try.

Lovely city to visit, just go and try. There was an amazing open market to explore (Tuesday) and we found some great places to eat. Only stayed a couple of nights, I would recommend 3 or 4. We traveled on Interrail and took a train direct from Paris Lyon to Montpellier Sud de France. It’s was fast about 3 hours. The station is out of town but we discovered that they are opening up a new line (Oct 2025) to link up with Montpellier station itself so you can change and not take a taxi or try you luck with a bus that could take 45mins. That’s going to make a huge difference.

Main take from my visit was how friendly and helpful everyone is in Carcassonne. Didnt have any bad experiences in shops, restaurants or bars. Such a laid-back city. A very walkable city with the beautiful Medieval City towering above and visibly from almost everywhere. Great walking paths along the River Aude and on the Canal du Midi.

Interesting small city with top class Roman remains (as big as Rome - though not so widely known). It is easy to move/walk around Nimes and I recommend it as a relaxing city. The Spanish themed Feria took place while I was there - great, enjoyable and lots of revellers - not relaxing but great fun for visitors of all ages. I hope you've got the picture. Enjoyable, lots of ancient sites, but up-to date entertainment and a relaxed atmosphere for all to enjoy. Finally, it's not a hilly city. Walkers can relax and take it at their own pace.

Lovely little gem of a town, lots of medieval history and a good food and drinks scene. People are really friendly and a lot speak a bit of English if your French isn’t very good! It’s a very walkable town as well, and I recommend the little train tour to give you some history and context for the place.

Lots of interesting bars and restaurants situated on either side of the canal. The cathedral is well worth visiting. There is also Les Halles covered market. A large open market takes place on Sunday around the canal. If you are a fan of Charles Trenet then a visit to his house/Museum is an absolutely must ~ fascinating. It’s within easy walking distance just over the railway line.

Beziers is a small city with a long history.

Beziers is a small city with a long history. We enjoyed wandering the old streets as well as walking further afield to visit the 9 locks on the canal du midi. There are spectacular views from the cathedral and lots of excellent restaurants. Tracking down the trompe l'oeil frescoes on the walls of buildings is a fun thing to do. Don't miss the Parc des Poetes which is very pretty to stroll around. The station is about 20 minutes walk from the historic centre and is currently (October 2025) undergoing extensive renovations to the roads in front. All buses (including the navette to the airport) and taxis currently leave from the rear.

Everything is very central, so there is no need for transport unless you want to visit outside the town. The beaches are clean and safe with lifeguards on duty. There are many restaurants and all the restaurants we tried produced excellent food and wine at very reasonable prices. The walk to Port Vendres takes around 30 minutes on a very safe path. It's well worth a visit. There is a large choice of cafes and bars and a good market on Saturday mornings. The coastal path to Argeles Sur Mer is a lovely coastal walk, it's quite steep in places but well worth the effort. Carcassonne is less than 2 hours on the train. We went on a Sunday for 2 Euros return. It's a historical city famous for its mendiaval citadel.

Cap d‘Agde is very nice destination with plenty of yacht ports and a few different beaches nearby. You can find there both restaurants, shops and disco clubs. Many small apartments with some with swimming pools. Big Aquapark and paid swimming pool are also in the area. There are buses to Agde and Gare where you can change to another bus to the airport but they do not go very often. Generally I do recommend.
