The location is right down on the harbour . The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The decor in the reception rooms is colourful and quirky and very relaxing. We enjoyed spending a rainy afternoon reading by a log fire in the lounge. The dinner and breakfast were excellent. Both vegan and we couldn’t believe we were offered vegan croissant and a full cooked breakfast. The dining area is delightful and we felt very relaxed.

I cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful place to stay in the heart of Exmoor. Shabby chic, charming, and expertly run. Andrew had boundless energy and is a font of knowledge and good local tips. The Whiskies are amazing with some rare and vintage gems. A 1970s Bruichladdich is one of the jewels in Andrews liquid crown. My room had a view up the Barle valley which was amazing to lie back at night and stare along. And the walk along there to Exford and Withypool is glorious. I wish I'd stayed longer. Or just got a job there and remained. Andrew is a natural and his team do him proud.

The hotel and the area have a uniqueness about them. We’ve never had such a positive initial feeling about a place as we had about Lynton and the North Cliff. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. The funicular is a godsend. The Valley of the Rocks a revelation. We can’t wait to return.

The location is superb with stunning views and easy access to Lynton. Service and food were excellent. The residents lounge and dining room were beautifully furnished- like stepping back into a genteel Victorian era. The Countisbury room was excellent.

Lynton and lynmouth are just beautiful places to visit. Plenty of great pubs and places to eat set in a very picturesque environment. The cliff railway was interesting to ride on and the Exmoor visitors centre was very informative. The valley of rocks was amazing to visit.

Been going to Lynmouth for soooo many years (40 in total) it holds many special memories 🙏🏻 we love the quaintness of Lynmouth, and however busy it gets, it never feels too noisy- love the walks, the coffeeshackbythesea, the Esplanade fish & chip shop, the views, the cliff railway which takes you to Lynton’s shops and cafes. I will always need to visit to recharge my batteries a few times a year - a little piece of nostalgia 🙏🏻❤️

Porlock is a charming village, there are plenty of restaurants , the weir is well worth a visit great pub and old interesting buildings. Take a climb up Porlock Hill or for a more sedate route try the estate toll road, lovely views across the estuary. Visit nearby Lynmouth, Lynton and Minehead all within easy reach. Having visited many times Porlock still retains character and is typically English.

Dulverton is a wonderful small town located in the middle of some beautiful countryside. There are all the shops you need with coffee shops, a fish and chip restaurant/takeaway and more. There are many car parks if you cannot find on street parking. As a solo traveller, I felt completely safe and there are lots of walks around the town to take a stroll with or without a dog. The river runs through Dulverton and there is a small area where you can sit and relax. It is very accessible to the moor and coast although if you are in a larger vehicle/camper-van, the roads are narrower. It can rain - and it did! I just enjoyed being back home and visiting friends and the old haunts. Just remember to pack proper footwear and a mac!

Beautiful location in a river valley, accessible by narrow lane, but really tranquil, no passing traffic Lovely old inn with lots of character, but comfortable and spacious. Good for walkers and dog owners. We walked along the river to Withypool, 8 miles there and back. We ate at the hotel, breakfast, dinner and afternoon tea. There was also plenty of refreshments in the rooms and excellent WiFi connection. Hilary and her staff were very friendly and helpful.

We booked the accommodation for ourselves and our daughter and son in law. As soon as we arrived the place and area looked wonderful. The accommodation is of a high standard with everything you need and it’s central to areas you would like to visit ie watersmeet, Lynmouth , Minehead. We were not that far away from Exmoor which was lovely to drive through and stop to take photos, seeing the wildlife was the added bonus. Where the accommodation was the Exmoor Inn offered food and drink, plus dogs are welcome. We were there the first night and had a lovely meal, the staff were very attentive and professional. We will definitely be back
