- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 91 reviewsThe moment we entered in Chrysalis Hotel, we were welcomed in the most sympathic and warmest way possible. Front desk team Iliana oriented us immediately about Astypalaia must do's and must go's and she also immediately found us a car at a good rental price. The view of hotel is breath taking, the rooms, the breakfast!! are superior as well. I was in between staying in Chora and Port (where Chrysalis is) and I understood how correct choice I have made :) Don't hesitate one second to chose this amazing hotel, you will get pampered every second with its facilities and the hotel team's sweetness ...Guest review bySedaTurkey
- From US$73.48 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 49 reviewsLovely spotless room with dedicated and helpful staff. There is no breakfast included but we found home-baked cup cakes on our verandah table in the morning and had jam, juice and crackers in the room. The restaurant is excellent and well-known. People come from other parts of the island for lunch and dinner. The beach (pebbles) is very close and absolutely incredible!!! I would definitely stay here again!Guest review byAnne-LaureBelgium

Astypalaia town, or Chora, is a true gem of the Aegean.
Astypalaia town, or Chora, is a true gem of the Aegean. Perched on a hillside, it offers stunning panoramic views of the sparkling sea, the picturesque harbor, and the majestic Venetian castle that crowns the town. The town’s white-washed houses, narrow streets, and vibrant bougainvillea create a magical, traditional Greek island atmosphere that is both peaceful and captivating. Visitors will find the iconic windmills just a short walk from the town center, and there’s a wonderful selection of tavernas, cafés, and shops to explore, where you can enjoy authentic local cuisine and hospitality. Whether you're looking to relax and soak up the island's natural beauty, wander the charming streets, or delve into its rich history, Astypalaia town has something for everyone. It’s the perfect blend of culture, relaxation, and scenic beauty, making it an unforgettable destination for all who visit.Guest review byEvangeliaUnited Kingdom - 6.0

The town is built on a very steep hillside, with most of the restaurants and bars at the top. In the summer there is a bus that runs from the beach to the top. If you come by ferry, check the sailing times, as most are middle of the night and the main port is not at Pera Gyalos. The roads leave a lot to be desired.Guest review byMikyTUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Analipsi is a gorgeous village in Astypalea.
Analipsi is a gorgeous village in Astypalea. If you are looking for a relaxed and peaceful stay, a gorgeous clean beach, low key cafes and restaurants (lots of fish dishes and seafood) it is THE perfect place to go. No noisy bikes / scooters. Perfect for couples (not much for children) wanting a stress free break. Car hire would be beneficial to get to the Chora (a 15 minute drive) and enjoy the excellent views, and sample the lovely food. But it is possible to do without a car, using the bus or the "Astybus" which will pick you up on request.Guest review byLindaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Another cute Greek island.
Another cute Greek island. I have been to 15+ Greek islands over 50 times in total. It is similar to many other Greek islands. Small, cute. The castle and the old town looks really lovely. We went in mid-August. Although the island had probably around 5000 visitors, because there are few restaurants and options, all places were packed. Most of my Greek friends consider Astypalaia as the best Greek island, however in my view it's fine, cute, but I wouldn't say it's more beautiful than many other Greek islands.Guest review byokgagoTurkey
