This property is amazing! A beautiful, refurbished home located 5-7mins from the port. Our host Alcyoni was very warm and accommodating. They provided water bottles and coffee capsules. My friend and I had a relaxing and cozy weekend stay here and in the island.

Our stay at this traditional Hydra accommodation was perfect!Nestled right in the heart of the island, the property combines authentic charm with all the modern comforts one could wish for. The house is tastefully decorated, reflecting the island’s character with whitewashed walls, wooden details, and airy interiors. It is fully equipped with every essential: a well-stocked kitchenette, comfortable bedding, air conditioning, and thoughtful touches that make the stay feel effortless. The location is perfect—just a short walk from the harbor, restaurants, and local boutiques—yet tucked away enough to offer peace and quiet after a day of exploring. What truly stood out was the warm hospitality and attention to detail, which made us feel at home from the very first moment. If you are looking for a stay that blends tradition, comfort, and convenience, this Hydra gem is an ideal choice. ♥️

REMOTE WORKERS and WOMEN SOLO TRAVELLERS this review is especially dedicated to you. I went to Hydra for 3 nights and at the first moment, the staff was very attentive. During check-in, Dimitri showed me and another girl all the must-see beaches around Hydra and gave tips on how to get there whether I wanted to hike, take a regular boat or a taxi. He also mentioned a hike to the monastery and was honest about the preparation and minimum duration. It's worth it, but it will be strenuous, especially under the hot sun. I'm glad I listened to his recommendations. The facilities are very clean (especially the bathroom and the bedding) and spacious. It's quiet and the access to the main street is such a bonus. A quick 3-minute walk and you are in the main strip, especially when you are carrying heavy luggage and bags on your back, it's a huge plus. The hot water was plenty and the water pressure was strong. As for the Wi-Fi. I saw the negative reviews on the Wi-Fi service, and I did work in one of the days, so I was a bit concerned with the Wi-Fi service. Ahead of time, I contacted the facility, and Dimitri was very quick in responding. The service in the room indeed is not good and fast enough for working, but for my phone it was ok. However, it was pretty good in the reception room (that is air-conditioning) and outside by the tables in the terrace and in the garden. That said, I was able to work normally for about 8 hours with their Wi-Fi (wi-fi calls, several tabs, and programs open). I definitely recommend the place. The location is great. The host and staff made me feel safe and gave great tips on how to enjoy the island during the short stay. The facilities were very clean and spacious. And Wi-Fi was good for work. Thank you all for such a stress-free time.

We were lucky to find this place still available! It’s just a 5-minute walk from the port and easy to reach—no stairs to climb to get there. The room was spacious, airy, very clean, and had a super comfortable bed. No mosquitoes, and some nice bathroom amenities were provided. We even had bottled water waiting for us in the room. The staff was incredibly kind—he helped us carry our luggage upstairs without us even asking. Towels were changed every day, which was a nice touch. Each room has a small patio, and the view from our room was absolutely incredible. He also recommended a few restaurants nearby, and all of them were excellent. The closest beach, Kaminia, is about a 15-minute walk away. You can easily walk everywhere from the property. We stayed for 4 nights and would definitely come back again!

Really beautiful island. Great location close enough to city centre. The staff was really friendly from the reception to the cleaning lady. They all had a smile for you at any given time you need to adress them. They kept our bags before the check in and after the check out. Great tables to relax on the patio, we actually had dinner there. Great small rooms with all the essentials. Windows can be tricky, ours was overlooking reception but the other room basically opened up to a small private patio and some trees. It was great never t less. Would recommend to anyone. Clean and comfy.

The rooms and building were beautiful -high celings, styled in an antique way. Amazing Service- The staff were wonderful. Breakfast was really good- coffee, juice, toast with spreads, mix of fruit, greek yogurt, honey and a choice of eggs cooked your way. The beds were comfortable Great location as 5 or 7 minutes walk from Port. Minimal stairs compared to the rest of the island . Slight incline up from Port, but only a feew stairs up at the hotel. This was good as I have a bad Knee

Nice to visit for a few days and enjoy walking about and meeting cats. Walk a little bit down from the harbour for maybe one hour and there is a good pebble beach. Make sure you do the walk up to the Prophet Elias monastery and bring some Euros for their small gift shop

Mandraki was a hidden gem of a place, only a 20-minute walk along the coast from Hydra Town, but away from all the hustle and bustle and with its own little beach and taverna - everything you could possibly need for a deeply relaxing holiday.

Hydra is beautiful. No cars no scooters.

Hydra is beautiful. No cars no scooters. If unable to carry your luggage over all the cobblestones a donkey will. If bored and not swimming weather, watch the activity at the port. Many ships anchor out or smaller ones come in. Beautiful shops and lovely places to eat.

There are plenty of Restaurants close to the Harbour and there is plenty of variety or restaurants. A couple of Bakeries, Ice Cream shops and Cafes are also available. There are a lot of clothing shops on the front and up the various alleys so there is plenty to look at. We took a Water Taxi down the East Coast and that was worthwhile. Another couple took a Water Taxi to a Beach on the other side of the Island and had a swim. That sounded like fun but there is very little sand here so get used to a stony beach. We came here in October so it was winding down for the Winter. Less Crowds but overall less activity. Our room had a Balcony right on to the Harbour Front. I would expect that it might be a little noisy in Summer / High Tourist season. Our Hotel offered rooms at the back that may have been quieter? Also this is a Historic Island. The Greek revolutions started here and the locals are very proud of that. There was also a huge fire in 1984 that killed 4 people and they lost a great deal of tree coverage. If you do go around the island there are pockets of Trees that were saved that will give you some idea of what the landscape used to look like. If you love the Olympics like I do, Elena Votsi a local Jeweler designed the front of the Olympic Medals since 2004 and her store is on the Harbour Front. She has a display that is worth seeing. My wife and I stayed 2 full days and had a lovely time. No cars or Motorbikes here so you will get your steps up. You will burn more Calories but there is some great food to tempt you to put more Calories in. Great Stay - Worth It.
