Kalabaka is the village that is at the feet of the mountains that host the meteora monasteries. The town exists to essentially service the tourism industry the meteora invite. People are friendly and speak many languages to accomodate their guests.Guest review byDikeosUnited States - 10
Volos is a really nice and vibrant city.
Volos is a really nice and vibrant city. There are a lot of coffee shops, bars, taverns, and restaurants that can cover every taste. The Pelion nearby is pretty easy to reach and offers a combination of picturesque villages and nature. This time, during our stay, we visited Mezen, Filarakia, and Anemi. Don't miss Filippou cafe classique for coffee, drinks, art exhibitions or music nights.Guest review byPanagiotisGreece - 10

A pretty town, plenty of shops, restaurants and cafes, but all in an attractive setting of tree-lined cobbled streets and scenic port area. We would recommend Nikos taverna in the pedestrian street for excellent grilled food and efficient service-it’s always packed and there’s good reason for that- also the fish taverna on the port., which also serves meat dishes and traditional Greek cuisine. Very reasonable prices, good food and lovely staff. For breakfast, coffee and a nice little place to people-watch, we loved the Foodie cafe in the pedestrian street. Friendly staff and good service.Guest review byRuthUnited Kingdom - 10

This was a great city. A lot of bicycle traffic. People very friendly. A nice small hometown feel for 60,000 population town. Several great museums. A wonderful stroll along the river. A great place to people watch on the main Avenue. Check out the Ottoman and Byzantine ruins..Guest review byconstantineUnited States - 10

Skopelos island is absolutely amassing, the beaches the views are breathtaking. Skopelos town is very pretty. We had dinner in family run taverna on the end of Skiatos port. It was best food that we had in Skiathos and Skopelos. On the top of it there was live music. Fantastic experience .Guest review byMariannaUnited Kingdom - 10

Very beautiful traditional Greek mountain village with small shops (local products) and few restaurants. Difficult to find parking in the center of the village, one public parking but it's very small. Easy to make road trips around Pelion area - go around if you have a car, this is one of the most beautiful regions in Greece (also in summer, not only winter). Some part of the roads (in Pelion area, not in Portaria) were destroyed in winter 2024 during storms. Unfortunately, they were still destroyed in July 2024. You can go around by car, roads are not closed, but needs a bit attention in many places and wouldn't recommend to drive at night (dark). Time from Portaria to beach (Agios Ioannis, Papa Nero) took from us abt 40 min so take your time. To Village "Kala Nera" (nice beach, long with plenty of place in July) a bit less.Guest review byPIALIISAGreece - 10

A magical area of Greece worth spending 2 - 3 full days or more. The Monestaries, the Hermit Caves, Prehistoric Theopetra Cave, the early Greek Orthodox Churches, such as the byzantine church of the Assumption of Virgin Mary , and the Hellenistic and Roman ruins - are all worth spending the time to visit and learn more about them.Guest review byAprilUnited States - 10

A wonderful location, only 20 min from the city of Volos, with plenrty of tradirtional small stores selling local tea, woodcraft and sweets, very nice (spicy) food, and very nice narrow passages for walking tours.Guest review byJohn & HGreece - 10
This is a spacious and well thought out property .
This is a spacious and well thought out property . Gorgeous interior and everything thought about from the use of space , seating area/breakfast bar and kitchen with a really large balcony. The bed is very big and extremely comfortable, if I had one criticism it would be that I could hear our neighbours shower or use of their hairdryer but this was only something minor. Excellent property and value for money in a beautiful location , 10 min walk into Skiathos town but if you don’t fancy the walk some beautiful tavernas on your doorstop , would 100% stay again and recommend.Guest review byLisaUnited Kingdom
