Udaipur appeared a bit more organized and clean than a few other cities we visited. The City Palace and other monuments which were under the administration of the the Royal Family seems to be well maintained despite their age. The city area, lakes and surrounds were easily accessible and beautiful for tourist visits. The Taj Lake Hotel, being an Island on its own was magical to visit for dinner after an evening cruise around the lake. Make one feel like James Bond.

Sam Sand dunes, Longewala Border, Tanot Ma Mandir & Kuldhara village are great. Jaisalmer fort & Havelis are also good. Gedisar Lake has Laser Light & sound show in the evening but unfortunately it was not working on that day. Shree Jee Excellency has great food. Try local food like Dal-Bati Churma, Ker Sangri, Besan Gatta, Bajra Roti & Lal Maans (for Non-Veg), if available.

Jodhpur is a great place for tourists.

Jodhpur is a great place for tourists. But stay away from the labyrinthine old city which is crowded and noisy. Come here to visit the wonderful clock tower. You need to walk in the old city. Apart from that the fort and surrounds are wonderful.

If you are religious and want to go here for this very reason, then you should go ahead with it. There are around 500 temples in Pushkar with the Brahma temple being the oldest one. Else, it is not a party place or a place with adventure activities. Restaurants close by 10 PM and no non-veg or alcohol is available throughout Pushkar.

Ajmer is an old city and the area near the railway station/hotel is poor and dilapidated. This will challenge some tourists. Not all local people are friendly but many are very friendly, helpful and curious about where you come from. I am female and was travelling on my own and found Ajmer to be a safe city. The Khwaja Muin-ud-din Chishti dargah and neighbouring bazaar streets are fascinating to see and a highlight of my trip!!!!!!

The place needs a lot of work..the NE 4 highway has opened hence a lot of crowd is pouring in at sawai madhopar however the hotels are in between villages and from the road to the resort nothing is done up well. Fateh's cafe and area around are just a few places one can hang out in. The visit to the fort etc should all be handled better by the locals and police, though people were warm it's all a bit not so clean and not so tourist friendly.

I enjoyed Shrinath Ji Darshan, the Statue of Belief, the Haldighati Pratap Museum and night market at Nathdwara. The local food and flavors are just awesome. People in the local town are so adorable and helpful that you never feel lost and unsafe even in midnight. Local markets and stuff are also not very expensive.

We attempted 3-4 sights only for just 8-10 hours of stay.

We attempted 3-4 sights only for just 8-10 hours of stay. Junagarh fort is the main attraction - spent 4 hours seeing the marvellous exhibits. Fort is well maintained, neat and clean, people in there were quite cooperative. There are many spots for good photography and selfi. The paid guide (part of entry price) was quite good indeed. Rampuria haveli : Massive old style Rajasthani haveli spread over a large area with intricate stone work is a must see attraction. Jain Temple : A big attraction with artistic murals, liked it. Lalgarh Palace : Missed it due to shortage of time. Karni Mata Temple : Did not like the rat population at all. Most of the rats are apparently diseased and is a threat to personal health. It is not worth journeying 38+38Km by car from city proper. The city is like any other middle tier Indian city with both clean roads + dirty roads with heap of garbage strewn about. Better to use face mask while out on the road. Shopping : No bargaining in most of the shops.
