Not too busy at the hotel, beautifully clean rooms. Peaceful atmosphere. The staff were absolutely amazing, kind, good-hearted. Always there if needed but giving you plenty of personal space. Huge thanks for individual arrangements like allowing me to use a room for a meeting.

This hidden gem exceeded all expectations, providing an unforgettable experience amidst breathtaking scenery. The accommodations at Casa Sofia are elegant and comfortable, with attention to detail evident in every aspect. The staff's warm hospitality and professionalism truly stood out, making me feel valued and cared for throughout my stay. Christian truly went above and beyond for us in every aspect and was genuinely one of the nicest hosts we’ve ever encountered. I would come back here in a heartbeat and would recommend to anyone who cares to venture to Ischia. Christian helped us plan our day every morning and was so positive about everything. Our room also had incredible views from the balcony which were incredible to see each day. In summary, Hotel Casa Sofia is a haven of tranquility, offering a remarkable escape. Room and whole hotel was super cute and very clean. There thermal pools were awesome. Walking distance to small downtown area with shops/market, beach, and some great restaurants. Would recommend also walking to the Poseidon thermal baths! Breakfast was absolutely phenomenal with fresh juices and tons of options. Front desk staff was great at arranging affordable taxi rides. Also check out the spa offers they were very affordable I got a massage that was great and a couple friends got massages and facials that were great!

Picturesque Island of Volcanic Rock, Thermal Spas and Pristine Beaches

Located 30 km from Naples and formed by a complex volcano, the pristine and breathtaking Ischia Island is Mother Nature’s hidden gem in the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is surrounded by an unspoiled coastline, thermal spas, several hiking routes and spectacular scenery.

Built in 474 BC, Aragonese Castle which is perched on natural volcanic rock, is the most impressive historical monument on Ischia Island, and is a modern day reminder of the islands past. Another wonder of island is the Gardens of La Mortella. Filled with tropical and Mediterranean plants, these picture-perfect gardens offer some of the best views over the region and Forio Harbour.

Other attractions on Ischia Island are beaches such as Maronti Beach and Citara Beach. There is also the Angelo Rizzoli Museum, which is a museum of the famous Italian publisher and film producer Angelo Rizzoli, along with the mushroom rock (known to locals as the Fungo) located just off the port of Lacco Ameno. Several local restaurants and bars are scattered around the island serving traditional and local delights.

One of the most interesting and unique areas on Ischia Island is the bay of Citara, and the famous Poseidon thermal Gardens. It features several pools, spas, a traditional Roman Sauna, a private beach and various restaurants. Visitors also have great transportation links by bus around the island.

    The hotel was more a senior home for retired. It has 4 stars but doesn't meet criteria of even 2 stars. Very poorly equipped with old and warned out furniture and bed covers. Walls were wet and dirty, room was freezing cold and stinking like old people. Food was horrible with even worse service and terrible noise in the canteen. Hotel has one indoor jacuzzi where the water was luke warm and had so much chlorine, that it was burning our skin and noses. It was the worst hotel experience I ever had.

    Great location - walking distance of the port, bus station, restaurants, supermarket and shops - the area was quiet and I felt safe. Breakfast was very good with different cakes each day. Lunches and dinners can also be booked at the hotel restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful and can arrange tours. The room was very clean and spacious. Unfortunately I did not have time to make use of the extensive spa facilities that are available.

    If I could rate this hotel at 11/10 I would. The location, facilities, attentive and helpful staff, the private beach/onsite spa, and incredible breakfast made my stay unforgettable. Everything was above and beyond all expectations. WiFi worked perfectly across the entire property and the bed was soooooo comfortable. I wish I could have stayed longer. Ischia is a wonderful, magical island.

    I have never felt so welcome at a hotel! The hosts, shuttle drivers, and other staff were all so wonderful. They gave us such good advice about where to go and helped us so much with making reservations for dinners/taxis. The property itself is so beautiful and the garden/pool is so relaxing.     Positone Spa a great day. St Angelo town quaint and beautiful. Garden Mortella stunning on a sunny day. Castle in Ischua Porte good. Bus transportation excellent, buses every 10 minutes, you can pay onboard. Use app Rio to Rome, excellent for travel information all around the world. Tip for travelling alone, lunch instead of dinner. Eat outside instead of dinning inside, bring a book with you. Once you begin travelling alone, the world is your oyster!!!

    Getting around easy using bus line, but can get crowded so allow time, recommend doing a boat/snorkel tour, also visit the castle. Ate at Wine Cave at Poseidon Thermal Gardens, recommend if visit Gardens. Also recommend Bella Napoli in Forio for dinner.
