The location was great for us with parking. Watched sunrise from our balcony and in the evening the moonrise over the mountains across the lake. 30 minutes by car to Bellagio to easily catch the ferry to any of the towns on Lake Como. We drove easily to Varenna and Bellano. Abundant breakfast in a sunny room overlooking the spectacle of windsurfers and kite surfers. I can’t say enough about the friendly, attentive and hardworking couple who run the hotel. We arrived late and Carlos called a restaurant and drove us there himself and then picked us up when we were done. His wife helped us out of a jam when a cellphone was lost in Bellagio and later turned up at the police station. Being it was a Saturday, the owner contacted a friend who had a key to the building and we were able to get the phone back. Their service is outstanding.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at La Vignetta Cernobbio! The hotel is truly one-of-a-kind, offering a unique charm that makes it stand out. The rooms were incredibly cozy, with breathtaking views of the lake that made every moment special. The location couldn’t be more perfect, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The staff were phenomenal, going above and beyond to ensure a fantastic experience. A special shoutout to Ash, whose exceptional service and kindness really made our stay unforgettable. A Haven of Alpine Tranquillity

Surrounded by the spectacular scenery of the Alps, Lake Como is a long, thin lake in the shape of an inverse ‘Y’. At its south-west corner is the beautiful town that it’s named after – Como. A short train ride from Milan, this is the starting point for several Lake Como cruises. If you take the funicular railway up to Brunate you get magnificent views of the lake and mountains, towards Switzerland just to the west.

The laidback and sophisticated way of life makes Como Lake popular with celebrities and several have homes in exclusive Bellagio, which is almost entirely surrounded by water. The views here are breathtaking, so it’s easy to see why of all the Lake Como hotels, Bellagio has the greatest concentration.

Just across the water are Lenno, Tremezzo and Menaggio, home to many exclusive lakefront hotels, many with swimming pools. You can actually swim in some parts of the lake, and the best beaches are found in the area near Gravedona in the north. Fanning out around a small harbour, this town offers some of the best Lake Como watersports.

At the lake’s south-eastern corner is Lecco, a town in the shadow of rugged mountains. Booking.com has a great range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Lecco and all the other main Lake Como towns.

    The location itself is truly beautiful, offering stunning views of the mountains and lakes that leave no one indifferent. As a couple, we thoroughly enjoyed this view. The staff are incredibly friendly. It's evident that the family running the place has years of experience and pays attention to every detail. The property is fascinating, providing a unique ambiance both inside and out. We especially enjoyed the lovely outdoor scenery and nature, and we must mention Rocco, the owners’ charming dog who kept us company and made our stay even more delightful. The rooms are clean and tidy, as is the entire environment. One thing to note is that the mattresses are firmer than usual, but this didn't detract from our experience. The food is excellent, particularly lunch and dinner, which are homemade and delicious (best Tiramisu we tasted in Italy). I would gladly return to this location.

    This property was fantastic could not fault it! the location was great, as it had a ferry stop only a 10min all from the hotel. The room out onto the deck over the lake was stunning. The breakfast and bar and restaurant were superb along with the staff. Would be amazing to stay here in summer! The parking was good too and the staff helped us plan our day trips and even had bus tickets, nothing was any trouble. We had a beautiful stay and would return!

    Bellagio is just so nice. The jewel in the crown. Busy during the day but better in the evening. Saying that, you can still get around. It’s charming, clean and plenty of shops restaurants. Great location to hop on the ferry to explore. Definitely the best place in our opinion but the area is stunning anyway. Ciao ciao.

    Lecco is in the south part of Lake Como, but from almost all the cities that we look around the Lake, apart from Bellagio, Lecco is the most picturesque because the mountains chain in the Background. Is simply breathtaking. The city itself has nice restaurants, stores and the walk around the lake is fantastic. Is served from a Train station the reaches Milan and the airports in few times, make it easy to depart and come from overseas. The ferry boats have a fantastic service, and people are nice and helpful. Loved Lecco!!!

    It was an excellent stay and really liked staying in Menaggio and moving everytime to another place. The two best locations to stay are Menaggio or Bellagio. There is some things to do and avoid coming from Milan late because buses and taxis are not available late.

    Varenna is a good spot to base yourself when coming to Lake Como. From here you can visit all the other towns, like Bellagio and Menaggio etc. Easy to get into via Ferry or Train. Nice size town, though it is becoming very crowded.

    I’d definetly book this place again, great views. It was fairly easy to get to and from, bit of a long journey but didn’t mind. The staff were great and the other people staying were nice to very international and friendly oh and I loved seeing peoples dogs but I’m not sure if they were staying there? The room was clean, beds comfortable, WiFi not sure it worked, breakfast good and fair price.

    It's a cute town with some lovely restaurants and easy enough to walk around for someone of average fitness. However if your purpose is to explore most of Lake Como, you will be limited to the slow ferry up to Bellagio / Varenna / Menaggio which takes 2-3hours. We had originally booked to stay in Varenna but cancelled due to works on the train line to get there. It still would have been a better option, or just staying in Como town to access the fast ferry. Most of the private boat tours also pick up from Como or from the "Golden Triangle" of the lake.

    Tremezzo is a beautiful town to stay in on the coast of Lake Como. It’s very easy to take the ferry to many other towns as well as Bellagio, on the lake. It was wonderful to spend several nights there.

    Pretty little lake side town across lake from Lecco.

    Pretty little lake side town across lake from Lecco. Easy walk of 25 mins to Lecco centre with plenty of local restaurants and supermarkets/marts within walking distance. Free parking around area as well if happy to walk a bit to where you are staying if in apartment vs hotel
