Dobbiaco is a really beautiful town.
Dobbiaco is a really beautiful town. There is a train station for trips to other nearby towns or into Austria. The bus service is excellent. You can go for hikes up the Dolomites and reach the famous three peaks. So much to do. The drinking water is amazing.Guest review byMonica - 10.0

San Candido is a picture perfect town nestled amongst the most beautiful mountain range in Europe , it has everything you need for a family holiday in the Dolomites , bars, restaurants and independent shops , I would highly recommend a visit .Guest review byruthUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Landscape is beautiful, well organizes services, buses, etc.
Landscape is beautiful, well organizes services, buses, etc., people are very polite (only not nice experience was in MTB academy) and the other remark is that on Sunday all the shops are closed which is not usually in other cities in Italy.Guest review byNatasaSlovenia - 10.0

Padola is a cozy location, very close to the main and most beautiful walking and skiing spots, just an hour away by car on a wonderful road. A calm and very beautiful place. There are stores nearby where you can buy food and fresh bread. On weekends, there is a market. A great coffee and delicious pastries are prepared at the Osteria. There are wonderful walking trails very close.Guest review byIlonaLithuania - 8.0

Nice village, easy to stroll around - few shops, caffees, restaurant available. Great for cross country skiing - Dobbiaco is linked with all neighbour villages and long distance trails are also starting from here. Easy access by car and skibus to 3Zinnen ski lifts.Guest review byBiankaPoland - 10.0

If you're looking for a nice calm and quite mountain village, with good local restaurants and close distance to the best attractions in the Dolomites than San Candido is for you. The surroundings are turly breathtaking, unique natural heritage of this world. Recommend to have a car to drive around, absolutely necessary.Guest review byMatteoUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Bus transportation was free and fairly frequent.
Bus transportation was free and fairly frequent. There is not much in the center of Sesto, It feels like a passing route rather than a village, unlike San Candido where there are shops and cafes and restaurants. None of that in Sesto. Good place to stay if you want to hike around and nothing else. I think I would rather stay in San Candido or Villabassa next time. If you stay in Sesto make sure you stay at a hotel that serves breakfast and dinner. If you have an apartment you will need to cook as there is no good restaurant option.Guest review byMireilleSpain - 10.0
The town of Dobbiaco is great if you're planning on...
The town of Dobbiaco is great if you're planning on exploring the Dolomites. It may not be as central as Cortina d'Ampezzo, but it's a heck of a lot cheaper. Lot's of beautiful locations are still within about a 40 minute drive. Which is what we did. We didn't explore Dobbiaco itself that much. Only went there for eating out or groceries, usually at the end of the day after a long day of hiking. The outside parts of the town feels rural, but the center has a lovely old church and reminds you this place has been around for quite some time. Rural or not, it still has plenty of places to eat out or shop for groceries. One pub was quite nice and had two tables full of local farmers who got together, laughing and sipping wine, probably after a hard day's of work. As a tourist, I'd say there was a lovely relaxed, quiet vibe around town.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
The views are fabulous.
The views are fabulous. In San Candido there are interesting churches. Unfortunately the baroque style one was closed due to renovation works. The Dolomite Museum isn't worth the while. It's ridiculously expensive considering the items there exhibited, which aren't of much interest.Guest review byJosé FranciscoLuxembourg - 10.0
Sesto is small, but has several markets and restaurants.
Sesto is small, but has several markets and restaurants. There are several lifts nearby (one in town) that will take one up to beautiful views, kid friendly play areas and extensive walking/hiking trails. A car isn’t necessary, but highly recommended, as Sesto is 6-7 km from the train station and getting further afield is much more convenient with a car than by using buses/shuttles. Several of the most popular areas to visit have restricted access and it is best to check restrictions, book early (if possible), and get to the trailhead/parking lot/etc. early. We were there during early July. Low season and ski season are probably different in interesting ways.Guest review byJamesUnited States
