It is in a small secluded area but a 20 minute walk (up steps but manageable) brings you to the lovely town of Vico Equense. There is also a shuttle bus almost every hour up to the train station. From the train it was v easy to get to Pompeii or Sorrento. (Using the local Circumvesuviana train route). It is also handy for trips to Capri or along Amalfi coast. The hotel staff is super friendly and organized our boat trip to spend the day on the island of Capri. The boat departs and returns from the pier adjacent to the hotel. The breakfast was excellent, and the drinks and dinner at the restaurant were also great. Lots of place to eat, shop and visit. If you don't have a car give yourself extra time getting to and from as taxis are scarce and the buses really don't follow a schedule even though one is posted. This area is a perfect base for visiting the Amalfi Coast. The bus takes you to Sorrento one way and Positano the other, but can get full up quickly. However there are taxis around if you prefer. Divine. The loc was fabulous and will always recommend this location to people. The mountain, the hills, the smell, the city had nice restaurants, and the dinner was delicious and pretty places to take pictures. Train from Sorrento to Naples to Amalfi Coast was astonishing. Piano di Sorrento is a quiet town which is what we liked.
Piano di Sorrento is a quiet town which is what we liked. But it had everything we wanted - easy to get to the train station, lots of shops within walking distance and several restaurants nearby. There was a nice park, a marina and it was possible to get boat trips from there instead of travelling into Sorrento which was much busier. Our favourite restaurant, which was only 5 minutes from where we stayed, was Gusto - nice staff, serving fabulous meat and other dishes. Amazing place to stay with your family or friends. We enjoyed every moment in the villa. Perfect location to visit Sorrento and Amalfi coast. Well equipped kitchen and outdoor grill allows to enjoy lovely dinners in the terrace with the sea view. Moreover, pool and lemon tree garden allows you to cool down from the heat. Sorrento is a popular tourist town with a wide variety of places to eat and an ideal starting point to visit Capri, Pompeii, Herculaneum and other sites. The new Campagnia Artecard is not as flexible as the paper card, the 3 days one is best as it includes travel on the trains and buses, however if you have any connectivity issues with your mobile phone it is not good. We found that people with disabilities or limited mobility are not always provided for, younger travellers will not notice. The train station is around an 8 minute walk away from the Blue Coral Suites, with a great selection of restaurants. Vico Equense is a charming little town between Naples and Sorrento. It takes 20 minutes to get to Sorrento by train, from where you can easily reach Positano, Amalfi or Capri by ferry, and in an hour you can be in the centre of Naples by train.
