Well this was something! The villa is charming, it is exactly the Tuscan place you want to visit. After a few days spent traveling our stay in this villa was relaxing. The rooms are cozy, spacious and clean. Excellent breakfast, dinner = heaven in the mouth. The staff is smiling, helpful and friendly. Genius Loci in here!

The breakfast was exceptional, the food from the restaurant was delicious! They offer plenty of activities to do!     The Grand hotel in Chianciano Terme' this is the hotel' we booked by international standards this should be a 1 star hotel with a warning do not book this hotel. The hotel is very outdated filled with a foul smell. The rooms & bathrooms lacks basic renovations and mould is every where in the bathroom. The breakfast is very poor offering basic and cheap shop bought cereals mostly reheated frozen pastries, the coffee machine broke down. The hotel charged us for rooms with no restraint, the hotel should have closed down a long time ago, it is no longer fit for purpose. I advise people not to go to the hotel do not waste your money & precious memories, we came back with insect bites all over our bodies. The photos of the hotel does not reflect the reality.

    Cortona is a great location for day tripping all that...

    Cortona is a great location for day tripping all that Tuscany( Montepulciano, Assisi, Arezzo, Pienza, Sienna) has to offer. Parking can be a challenge, but the town itself is delight with many terrific resturants(La Bucaccia & Antica Trattoria) that cater to vistors. I could spend a month living in Cortona.

    Town of Chiusi consist of two parts. Stick to the historical side on the hill for best town experience, good restaurants and Tuscan feeling. Use the newer part of the town only for your grocery, petrol and laundry needs.

    Sarteano is a small, picturesque hilltop town.

    Sarteano is a small, picturesque hilltop town. It has a range of shops, bars and restaurants, a castle and a lot of typical winding streets. A good base from which to explore the local sights. While we were there we visited Siena, Monteriggione, Pienza and Montecchiello, Montepulciano and, one of the highlights, Bagni di San Filippo, where you can bathe in warm sulphurous waters.

    The swimming pool was lovely.

    The swimming pool was lovely. The room whilst perfectly adequate was not as shown in the photograph whilst booking. The shower in the bathroom was a clumsy hand held one that you had to use whilst standing in the bath. The restaurant food was not very good when compared with other local restaurants and the service was somewhat chaotic. Better to go five minutes down the road to the local trattoria.

    Just my wife and I, trying to get some feel for Tuscany. We were on a ridge, overlooking a valley of wine fields and olive tree orchards, and looking up at Montepulciano. View couldn't have been more perfect. Ate dinner in town 2 nights at restaurant recommended by host - really practical and delicious.

    The town is nice.

    The town is nice. It is a quiet time of the year, but the merchants we encountered were friendly. The Terme Theia was ok, but the management inflexible when I tried to inform them of a booking error within 24hours of making it they did not reply to my emails, and when I spoke to the they said that once I paid there was no refund or changes. I prefer the Terme sensoriale, but unfortunately they are only open on weekends

    Amazing medieval city with beautiful architecture and a great atmosphere. We were there on the main holiday weekend of the year and it was very crowded. There was a food festival in the park, a photographic exhibition in various sites around the city and a band playing in the Teatro Piazza in the evening. The many churches are beautiful and there are restaurants to suit everybody - from gourmet to burgers. Never a dull moment for two days. Unfortunately it is not suitable for people with mobility problems because of the steep hills and cobbled streets.
