They have all the snorkelling gear for hire including wetsuits.
The STAFF are AMAZING , so helpful and kind. They went above and beyond to make our stay the best experience.
I can’t thank them enough.
Also Included in the price is breakfast and dinner, it’s called half board.
The food was pretty good, there are no other restaurants around the area.
They have a bus that takes you to Aharen Beach, which is the other beautiful beach on the island.
A pick up and drop you service is available to meet you from the ferrys at the port.

the host is incredibly helpful. He offers to help you make restaurant reservations and organise transport to get there since there isnt really a bus or taxis on the island. He picked us up from the ferry and dropped us off again.
He made us really nice breakfast sandwiches every morning. The most helpful thing was that we got a bit unlucky with the weather there was a typhoon and tsunami warning and he always informed us and kept us up to date about whats going on. The ferry wasnt going because of the weather so he organised a boat taxi that drove us to the island! Incredibly proactive and a lovely person! We recommend staying there.

Kamekame house is an exceptional place, in an amazing environment of Tokashiki island. The degree of personal touch in service, cleanliness & immaculate order of everything - even comparing to the high standards of Japan - is just extraordinary. We had two rooms, one big one for our three kids and then a small for the parents. The small one was compact yet functional; the big one was indeed spacious. It had futons directly on tatami, the traditional Japanese way, and the children loved it.
Kamekame's breakfast was excellent. A very traditional Japanese one, served to the table.
I'd like to give special mention for the hostess's kindness to listen and respond to my (very, very) rudimentary attempts to speak in Japanese. Kamekame also helped us to get to a private-group snorkeling experience. Transfer from and to Tokashiki port was included in price and increased the feeling of being welcomed even further.
Overall: if looking for a comfortable, small, intimate and personal place with modern amenities, including a good wifi), in near proximity (about 150 meters or so) to a great beach, this is definitely the place to go. However, good to bear in mind that it is not a party venue with late night disco/bar, there is no American style breakfast buffet, and some of the rooms have futons and tatami instead western style beds (our smaller room had them, though).

We stayed at Hanamuro Inn for two nights and absolutely loved it. The inn is simple, clean, and full of charm. Just like the island itself. The owner is warm and welcoming, and the whole place had a laid-back, friendly vibe that made us feel right at home.
Aka Island is small, quiet, and stunningly beautiful. You’re surrounded by turquoise water, white sand beaches, and a peaceful atmosphere that’s hard to find elsewhere. Around the inn, there are a few small restaurants and two little supermarkets. It is just enough to enjoy good local food without any stress.
If you’re looking to unwind, swim, snorkel, or just take in the natural beauty, Hanamuro Inn is a perfect place to stay. We would absolutely come back. A lovely spot on a lovely little island.

Exceptional place run by some amazing people who treat you like friends rather than guests. They made our stay in Zamami very memorable. The room itself is quite large and with all the amenities you need. Washing machines are available and you can keep your luggage at the hotel after checking out.

I don't know what to say.
I don't know what to say. I've traveled a lot, but Zamami beats everything. The views are so breathtaking! Beaches are pristine and not crowded (well, at least they're not in late October; I'm not sure how it is during peak season).
At night you can see our galaxy clearly. Whatever I say, it will not do this island justice—you have to see it with your own eyes.
Oh, and it's totally worth it to rent an e-bike and try to visit all of the observatories.

I was there for five days (planned for seven days to include...
I was there for five days (planned for seven days to include five days of diving), and my stay was cut short by the threat of a typhoon. Tokashiki is quiet - you have to make your own activities, which are water-based. We found a couple of exceptional restaurants and a food truck with great vibes. Lots of friendly locals.

While Aka is a small island, it has all the necessities you need to enjoy a relaxed and comfortable getaway. Renting a bike is easy to quickly get around to most of the beaches on not just Aka, but also Geruma and Fukaji, which are connected by bridges.
Nishibama Beach on Aka came recommended as the best place to spot sea turtles while swimming or snorkelling, which proved to be correct!
Aka has its own nightlift hub in Yonamine House, a small bar with low seating in the Japanese style that serves beer, wine, whiskey, and a host of spirits. Head there in the evening to meet people and make conversation.

Akemi was such a wonderful host.. she picked us up from the ferry and dropped us off on our return back. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Her place was comfortable and had everything we needed. She even has a restaurant close by and another food spot by Ama beach where we were able to get food and snacks. She served delicious, authentic food at her restaurant and I think she was also the chef! Will definitely stay here again!

Beautiful small island with lots of breathtaking places and spots for snorkeling. The further you move from the Zamami village the more quiet is gets. We went to the more remoted beaches to walk around and were the only people there for couple of hours. Most of the places are easily accessible by bike that can be rented either at hotel or in the main village. There are few restaurant, but always book a table. Often they don't accept guests without reservation, likely due to portion limitations.

Crabs and coral and beautiful seashells everywhere. It's so natural.

Zamami is quiet and very natural.
Zamami is quiet and very natural. We stayed near the port and there are two nice beaches within walking distance. The town is very quiet ad peaceful. we rented scooters and drove around the island - a great way to see spectacular views. I recommend 3 nights. Be sure to book restaurants for dinner as its a small town and the restaurants fill up quickly. We really enjoyed eating at the hotel but would have liked to have tried a few other places too. The Mexican truck was a great place for lunch (no reservations needed).

Tokashiki is the largest of the Kerama Islands.
Tokashiki is the largest of the Kerama Islands. There are some great spots for swimming, snorkeling, and diving from the shore, but a boat trip will be required for some of the other spots, particularly the northern portion of the island. The roads are narrow, but it's worth touring around the island on some of the back roads for the various views and wildlife.
