I stayed at the Ryokan which run by amazingly heartwarming family for 3 nights! It was soooooo memorable! The great Grandma, Deguchi san, such a cute and kind person and she takes care about everything including my plan at The Valley! She and her son (Kazuya san, he used to be a chef manager.) cook so delicious meals every single day with a different menu for dinner, it was sooooo delicious!! I really enjoyed chatting with other guests from over the world and it was very fun! My room and entire the accommodation was super clean! The location is perfect for looking around the vine bridge, there are several public bus services which run every 1 hour between Oboke station and the Kazurabashi. They offered a special discount for the nearest Onsen, called Hotel Kazurabashi Onsen which was so nice and plus point! (15 mins walks from the Ryokan.) There are only 5 rooms at the accommodation so book well beforehand to have such nice experience from the locals!! I really highly recommend here if visiting the Iya valley and will definitely come back to see the lovely family again in the near future for sure! Thank you very very much for the great experience and nice stay!! Everything, meals, atmosphere and staff are over 10 points, 100 of 10!!!

The facilities are excellent. The capsule is big enough. Even though i was staying in a capsule, i didn't feel at all deprived or missing out by not staying in hotel room. The place is absolutely clean. Which shows how hard and diligent the staffs work to keep it clean and immaculate everyday. Wifi internet is strong. Fridge, microwave, dining room available for use on our floor. What more does anyone need?

Great luxury hotel, about 15 minutes walking to both Imabari Castle and Imabari train station. Great staff. Very Quiet, if your neighbors are quiet, not so if they are from a country where yelling in the hallways is normal. Great beds in a big twin room, smoke free building. Really great breakfast selections, nice warm heating. We stayed here for three nights, it was a real treat for the bargain price in the annex, you just have to walk a bit down the hallway to your room. Go try the great FunTable store for high quality conbini food, one block from the hotel, just after the Udon restaurant, before Uniqlo. Taxi to the hotel from the JR station is only 660 yen.

Everything. Staff were friendly and attentive including valet parking service. Hotel was a lovely building in a beautiful setting. Rooms were clean and spacious, staff will make your beds up whilst at dinner. Dinner and breakfast were both outstanding, a delicious selection of traditional and locally sourced japanese cuisine in a very aesthetic room. We only used the outdoor onsen which you take the funicular to. It was clean with beautiful views and not busy during our visit.

Hotel is close to the theme park as it is the only hotel associated with the theme park. BUT the hotel and theme park is quite far from the train station. There is a free bus shuttle but runs infrequently. We ended up taking taxis to the facility . The hotel is huge and it had lots of things that could accommodate the large crowd: Pool and game rooms for children, large onsen baths, large self serve restaurant, and a big store for shopping.

It combines the charm of a traditional ryokan with the amenities of a modern, more western style hotel. Excellent food and friendly, helpful staff, always ready to meet your needs. Add to that an outdoor, rooftop onsen and you have everything you need. Next door to the famous Dogo Onsen, a nice shopping arcade and bus and tram spots and its location can’t be beat.

it's not a bad town -- plenty of services, views and gardens -- the Setouchi Triennale venues are great..on or off season.. Pretty easy to navigate once you get your head around the station plaza area..not a place I'd return to except for the Art stuff.. (tho the crowds made it difficult..another story)... The tourist Info centre inside the Loft bldg was a little hard to find BUT the level of information and service was outstanding!!!!

Tokushima is a nice and vibrant city, that gets the most of its hype during the great Awa Odori Matsuri, held in mid August. If the temperatures are too hot for you, you can still see Awa Odori performances all year around. From Tokushima is also easy to reach Naruto, with its famous whirlpools.

A small town set in a valley surrounded by steep forested mountains and a majestic river Gateway to Iya Valley and other stunning sights. No shortage of top class food options and bars (particularly Casual Bar for great fun and karaoke and Cafe Addcolor). And the locals are some of the very nicest and generous people I have met. Can easily spend days just walking around the town and hidden laneways to shrines and spectacular scenery. I will definitely come back.

The Best part about Matsuyama was where we stayed.

The Best part about Matsuyama was where we stayed. It was Ryokan Kominka Mitsuhama, and it was detailed by a true artist. You have 2 floors of space with the bedroom upstairs and a large living room downstairs. The living room is surrounded by 2 different mature and well lit Japanese gardens. One had many Koi swimming in the ponds. So lovely! It was in a quiet, low key neighborhood but just 2 blocks to the river and near a little working fisherman's bay. The boats were squid fisherman with lights strung on them because they fish at night with the lights to attract the squid. There were plenty of small local restaurants and bakeries. It was a respite from tourist crowds and off the beaten path.

We were there for two days, which felt a bit short.

We were there for two days, which felt a bit short. The castle is a must-see, if only for the view from the top, of the city with mountains in the background. The Sunday Market is also a must, if you're there on the weekend. The small Science Museum near the castle was fun and very hands on, mainly for kids but also a nice detour for adults. We also found a Back to the Future DeLorean in the Automobile Museum, which was a nice surprise. Katsuo (bonito) is famous in Kochi, it's flame cooked a little on the outside but still raw on the inside and pretty tasty.
