- From US$282.53 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 114 reviewsWe had a wonderful night in Yamanashi prefecture. We booked the hotel as it was our anniversary and we were visiting some vineyards in the area. Being from the UK we did not know what to expect and the view from the hotel terrace of Mount Fuji blew us away. The amazing staff, who were just the most friendly of our 3 week trip, showed us to our room and we had been upgraded to a suite. It was by far the biggest hotel room we have ever stayed in and absolutely huge for a Japanese hotel. The best part was that we got a perfect view of Mount Fuji from our bedroom. A spectacular treat. We ate in the hotel and had a set Japanese meal which was delicious. We practiced our Japanese as all the staff spoke little to no English, but they tried so hard to help us and were amazing. The next morning we had a nice breakfast while watching a film crew make a movie on the terrace. An added bonus. We wished we could have stayed longer and our amazing reception lady even helped us to our car with our massive suitcases. The stay really exemplified Japanese warmth and hospitality. I wish I had taken names so I could mention them personally. We were made to feel so special and it was explained to us that not many British tourists visit them and the region. I can tell you that everyone should explore beyond the main cities, as the wine is great, the countryside splendid and the Fuji views (if you're lucky like we were and got a sunny day) were breathtaking. A true highlight of our trip. Thank you everyone.Guest review byjulieUnited Kingdom
- From US$208.74 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 408 reviewsGreat hotel, the stuff are super nice and helpful. Family friendly. The hotel is big, clean, great onsen. The rooms are spacious, and the bed is comfortable. All floors in the hotel and tooms are covered with rugs so if you have allergies take it into consideration. They have a restaurant and went out of their way to make sure they had vegetarian options for us. The breakfast buffet had various of options, and was delicious. The only critique i have is that they serve dumplings which they write to be made of only wheat, milk and egg, so we though its vegetarian, but it had pork inside. Hopefully they will change it. The hotel is up a hill so they have a shuttle to go down to the bus station. I would recommend renting a car instead.Guest review byYardenIsrael
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,536 reviewsThe food at the buffet was excellent, the staff were excellent and professional, I had a message at the spa and it was also excellent. The view from the rooms were amazing and I loved the traditional feel/tea room in our hotel room. The location on the lake was beautiful and serene and an easy walk to shops and restaurants. Overall, I thought the stay was exceptional and I really enjoyed my visit.Guest review byKatherineCanada

The room was amazing and spacious, and the view from the balcony of Fuji and lake Kawaguchi was incredible! The onsen is a must! Super clean and quiet and relaxing hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful and assisted us with an urgent matter we had. Will definitely stay here again!Guest review byRamaPalestinian Territory

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 34 reviewsFor a single room it was fairly spacious compared to other single rooms I've had before. The whole bathroom is higher which is a little weird but not a problem, maybe if you're elderly this would be an issue, otherwise the room was fine, comfy bed.Guest review byKellyAustralia

2 nights was too long, 1 night would have been plenty. Its easy to get around but the main bus/ train station is crazy busy. Its quite hectic and crowded, allow extra time to make up for the queues.Guest review byMichelleAustralia - 10
I recommend staying.
I recommend staying. I wrote a long review separately which I hope is useful; please refer to that. In addition, for young children, you can visit the sheep shed where they keep the sheep to see sheep up close, wander down and the up the hill behind reception, and get the best tasting soft serve ever from the restaurant!Guest review byDavinosJapan - 10

Lake Yamanaka is such a pretty place - Mt. Fuji never showed her face during our stay for the icon lake photos but it didn’t take away from the magic. The little town just 20 mins away by bus from our domes was super cute, filled with history, culture, and more shopping.Guest review byElizabethUnited States - 8.0

We really enjoyed the place, but it was a bit dead midweek. There were some tourists, but not very many. It was good to have a car to explore. We went to -Kofu Castle Ruins (peak bloom time!) -Yamanashi Fruit Park -Maglev Exhibition Center We ate at -TREE Anthony's Kitchen (AMAZING Greek Food) -Kaosen Thai (eh)Guest review byPena - 10

Hokuto is a bit of an off-the-beaten-track destination, perfect for a weekend or even 3 or four days. Surrounded by beautiful nature, it's a great place for hikers - since it's located at the base of the Yatsugatake mountain range. The adventurers can go explore the hiking trails and waterfalls, but also there are charming cafes, art galleries and international cuisine restaurants splattered in the area. I would avoid going there by car on a Saturday morning, because the Chuo Express Road gets packed and it may take up to six hours to get there from Tokyo (the normal is 2 hours). So if you can, go on a weekday.Guest review byVillageOneJapan - 8.0

We stayed for just one night to have the amazing view and cheaper hostel prices. One night in yamanakako, one night in kawaguchico, is perfect. Yamanakako is quieter and less touristy, which is exactly what we wanted. However, the bus schedule limits how many places you can go cuz they come every 1 hrGuest review byLiCanada - 10

If you are looking to escape from tourist areas and visit the country side of Japan? Then this place is it! There is hot springs everywhere and it is near Mt Fuji so tons of mountains around. Incredibly serene and quieter than areas like Hakone. ( Hakone is VERY beautiful but tons of tourist)Guest review byElianaUnited States
