This is a very comfortable hotel and the family who runs it is lovely! They took me to see bats flying at sunset and cooked incredible meals. I also did the full day safari - my guide was extremely knowledgeable and respectful of the animals’ environment.

From the moment I entered the property, this place exceeded my expectations. Gamunu and his family run it. We were welcomed by his daughter with a fresh king coconut drink and she quickly helped us check in. Gamunu was checking on us throughout the stay to make sure we were comfortable and for anything we wanted. This room has everything you need in this type of property and has a large balcony with amazing views of Debarawewa Lake. The location is ideal for exploring the area and visiting nearby attractions. Debarawewa lake is a great place to walk or drive around, and Tissa Lake is nearby. Our schedule doesn't allow us to try out the food at this property, but we'll come back again.

Zarath which it’s the owner it’s going the extra mile, it’s a hidden gem this place, the room it’s huge, outside have squirrels because they have a mango three, it’s a little bit hidden but really good, my wife on one of the talks she says that she loves fruits, each meal we got fresh watermelon, mango, bananas etc. multiple fruit juices from coconut water to passion fruit juice, zarath bring us to the beach, city, and we even saw crocodiles and elephants at the end he didn’t even wanted to charge us all the travels, this place Im assuming that for COVID reasons it’s this cheap for now, but i really thing the price doesn’t match the experience that you receive.

Gorgeous location tucked away on a private chunk of land connected to Yala park. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to make sure you are safe and have everything you need. I can’t say enough about the food! We only stayed for one night as we were moving quickly between locations while there, but should have booked minimum 2 nights. Would be perfect location for a honeymoon. Amenities are out of this world. Our guide for the safari was very informative and easy to chat with. I was happy to hear that the company provides the guides who can explain the animals in English, but hire jeeps and drivers from the local villages to distribute the benefits of the tourism dollars around. Would 100% stay again and highly recommend.

Everything was wonderful. From.checking in to checking out. We saw elephant on the property, and other wild animals..monkeys, squirrels, cows, and buffalos. Food was okay. Not much to choose from as a westerner... I asked for egg Benedict, and the chef went to made it. Really appreciate it. The ocean view room is very spacious and the view is absolutely amazing.. The bathroom is very huge and allow for a sea view as well. Love the sustainability part of the proterty. All eco friendly , great place for those who care about the planet My family and I will be back.

We loved the location of this hotel. It was beautiful. Our main purpose was to go for Safari, and this hotel is perfectly located from Yala National Park. They even packed us breakfast at 5am, so we can take it with us to Safari. We spent an afternoon at the pool, (and had it all to ourselves which was also a bonus). The food was great, and we had the buffet there. The staff were all amazing. Everyone that worked there, were quite young, but incredibly professional, polite and kind, and they all really went out of their way to help us.

Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!

It is a holy place visited by Buddhists and Hindus alike. Some Muslims also visit a mosque located in the sacred area. Buddhist usually visit the Kiri Vehera area first and then come to the Devale premises. There are circular roads to facilitate that sequence. Otherwise, one can walk to the Devale premises and then proceed to the Kiri Vehera premises. There are lot of boutiques selling various items including offerings for Devale. They are located in the town area. After that one has to cross a small bridge over the Menik River to enter the sacred area. Over the years both sides of the river have been re-organized for a better sequential experience.

This place is amazing.

This place is amazing. We stay with our 3 young kids and the staff were so kind and attentive. All of the small details have been thought of and it’s a wonderful experience in nature. Lovely local Sri Lankan are served for each meal.

A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

Weerawila, located in a dry zone of Sri Lanka, is ideal for wildlife safaris and nature experiences. This location is especially convenient during the rainy season, as it often stays dry even when the rest of the country is experiencing thunderstorms. We chose it specifically to avoid heavy rains.

We went for leopard safari & it is in zones 5&6. Safari was excellent & saw one leopard & a bear! Hotels generally not near any restaurants so confined to your hotel for dining. Would not want more than one or two nights there.

The owner of Serenity lake advices us to visit Yala safari, Sithul pawwa magul viharaya and sithul pawwa a super history with beautiful scenery, which we did and we're very grateful for his advice. We returned to the serenity lake to have lunch before heading off. Requested for a village kind of lunch with the local veggies and it was served on a lotus leaf... The most delicious meal it was. We had lunch at Reds and at the Serenity lake .

Kataragama itself is a temple town and that’s pretty much it. Other than that it’s a jumping off point for safari in yala and kumana. One day is more than enough for cultural/religious aspects. The Perahara (pageant) in July is fantastic. Be warned that it may not start till midnight and may need pre booked tickets. Also watch out for pickpockets in crowded areas around this time. The country side and the rural life as well as the wildlife is fantastic and authentic. Quite hot and sunny year round but dec to feb is more comfortable.

It definitely is an experience worth trying.

It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night. There were times you just felt that we were the only ones there and when you needed something the staff would magically appear

We were extremely satisfied with the hotel and its beautiful surroundings. Everything exceeded our expectations. We took lots of photos & are sharing them with friends. The restaurants,Roof bar,Spa's and the pool side and pool is world class with out doubt! The service was outstanding, and that is something that can really make or break a vacation. Congratulations to the Super Proactive General Manager Mr Krishanta Damunupola and his team members to include Mr Seeman and Miss Sandani(Intern) for being so accommodating at all times with oodles of dedication. We also especially liked the super-comfy room with the balcony, bed linens which were very high quality, and felt so good to slip into each night. Thanks so much for a lovely visit.We'll be singing your praises for a long time. Thanks!
