The house was like a museum with the breath of old days in every corner. At the same time the bathrooms and kitchen was all up to date. We enjoyed the lake and boats. Kids loved it!

Great central location to walk everywhere and pop into Valka. Supermarkets nearby, a restaurant next door. Quiet house, I understand the building's exterior may put people off, however the flat itself is immaculate as in pictures.

Pleasant, but apart from the fact that it's one town in two...
Pleasant, but apart from the fact that it's one town in two countries, there is not that much to see / do. Cool to step over border and take a look at Estonian supermarket with slightly different goods, have some Estonian icecream. Liked town square on the Estonian side, a couple of monuments. Several spots for lunch / dinner, some even a bit fancy. I took a quick look during one afternoon, and the next morning took a bus to the nearby Strenci for a lovely forest walk along Gauja river.
