The room had air-conditioning, which was great, and the staff was pleasant and accommodating for an English-only speaker (aka American). It was clean enough, but not by Western standards. Breakfast was typical Moroccan: simple, tasty, and filling. They helped me park my bike in the courtyard.

The hospitality and service from the staff was exceptional. They were always friendly and helpful. The facilities were perfect and the atmosphere is very cosy. It felt like an oasis in the city. We had lots of diners at Le Moulin of which most were very tasty. Wines and beers were very nice to have on the menu.

    The Algerian owners of Dar Zaria have created a special ambiance for their riad. Both open and covered areas lie adjacent to a three floor open garden space with trees which reach right to the top. Add to this a huge diversity of flowering vines and varied vegetation. Spaces are delightfully filled with a collection of artesian. Our suite was commodious, tastefully decorated and well lit. The rolled bath was attractive. The staff was attentive; our meals were well prepared and tasty. We could not have asked for a better experience.

    Ideally located Easy parking Service and friendliness of the staff : wow Spotless room Beautiful outdoor area Delicious meal The kettle in the room was a bonus , only hotel with a kettle during our stay and it was pretty nice to be able to drink some tea before bed. We took the tour of the city by horse carriage and the guy was really kind, we had a great time

    Food was not important for me, I m trying to buy food by myself. It was possible even if not the close, including perfect and cheep tea. Sunrises and sunsets from room or from roof were magic! every day with peace and harmony. River and natural vegetation were very important including two ruins on oposite river side, which are possible to reach by foot.

    From the moment we walked into the tranquil setting the staff made us feel so welcomed. To our delight, we received an upgraded room which was divine and so incredibly comfortable and tastefully decorated. The meals were fabulous and the wait staff incredibly attentive. Our stay was a highlight and we only wished we could stay longer.

    Interesting town with souks and a historical setting where Ali Baba the original film was shot . A local man attached himself to us and ended up giving an informal guided tour. The restaurant we had a lunch was tasty and not expensive. We missed a horse candle cart tour offered at our hotel which would have been better use of our time and visit.

    The kasbah is simply an absolutely beautiful place where you become immersed into the culture. Very genuine hospitality met us the minute we came through the gate and it did not take long to be welcomed with hot tea and enjoy.

    The Host at the hotel was exceptional.

    The Host at the hotel was exceptional. We couldn’t speak his language nor us, his, but he managed to show us how the property was before it was renovated. It is a stunning place to stay and I would highly recommend it.

    The oasis is nice and you get to know how the local people...

    The oasis is nice and you get to know how the local people live. Apart from wandring round there isn't much to do, but the place has its unique atmosphere which is worth experiencing. Getting there is an adventure though as the road is better suited for 4x4 cars, however we managed to get there with our rented car which wasn't 4x4 without any issues (Dacia Logan). The host is friendly and the food was nice.

    We expect that the lack of a heartfelt welcome and magnanimous warmth and generosity was absent as the staff were home alone with the owner elsewhere! We were shuffled to our cold bedrooms and it was lights out! In the morning the expected wonderful breakfast it didn't materialise and was served 20 minutes late despite the owner informing us by email to expect it at 8:30. What was offered was a cheap white bead 'stick', some bought jams and watery coffee. 3 bananas.

    Excellent place to see the real Morocco!

    Excellent place to see the real Morocco! Not that crowded like Marrakesh, but full of local flavour. Delicious street food. Fascinating culture. Extremely friendly people. I've been here five times and I'll be back for more :-)
