I assume its a good place if you are single and you want to party and meet new people. For everybody else its a shallow place with nothing there to see, way too crowded during the night in high season with people that are half dressed, drunk and very vocal. During the day the smell is horrendous in some areas from last night's parties because of the trash and the vomit. The best thing about St. Julien's is that its close to other way more interesting locations.Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0
Full of high-rise concrete hotels.
Full of high-rise concrete hotels. You have to wander away from the promenade to find anything more characterful. That said, it's easy and cheap to grab a bus to the ferry stop to get across to Valetta and the 3 cities. But the prom itself is a pleasant place to walk along with the sea right there. Swimming holes are plentiful and beach bars reasonably priced. Factor in potentially a 30 minute wait for the ferry over if you just missed one, or if the little taxis aren't running. (If it's windy/choppy) if its calm and sunny, the 3euro per person water taxi over to Valetta is a no-brainer; way nicer than crowding onto the big ole ferry.Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The beach was clean and sunbeds with umbrellas were great.
The beach was clean and sunbeds with umbrellas were great. They even provided a separate towel to lie on. This was a small cost for the use of it all day. The bar and restaurant weren’t part of our hotel but just a stones throw, so perfect. Lots of rocks to lie on and ladders used in parts to get into the sea. St. Paul’s Bay is a pretty town with shops, restaurants, and beachside cafes, easy to get around using ferry and Uber.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Loved Valletta!
Loved Valletta! The buildings, the history, the people were all beyond expectation. We went the first week of October and the weather was perfect for walking around the city - mid twenties every day although you may have the odd rain shower at this time of year. Despite the fact you are in a tourist city we never felt that we were being taken advantage of with prices for coffees, drink and food being pretty consistent throughout the city and quite reasonable. The public transport system especially the buses is very good whilst taxis are quite reasonable too. And of course just about everyone speaks English! But take good shoes with you as you will be doing a lot of walking - and most of it up and down hill...!Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Malta offers a good public transport, so it is so easy to move around. There are plenty of bars and resturants. Beautiful sea and places of interests to visit via public transport. I really love St. Julians town and its landscape. Cruising Gomo and Goso is very ineresting too.Guest review byadedotunUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Although I have been to Mellieha before and it has changed...
Although I have been to Mellieha before and it has changed enormously in the last 25 years, I think it is still one of the most charming parts of Malta. There are dozens of bars and restaurants, a fair few of which I have visited and every one was excellent. I could not fault the village in any way I would certainly recommend this as a holiday destination. Although very hilly, I believe that is part of its charm and I have stayed in other parts of Malta, all of which have their own attraction.Guest review byMcLennan - 8.0
Enough restaurants to choose.
Enough restaurants to choose. Really nice beaches and very safe circumstansies for a walk in the municipalitiy. Well equiepped shops, kind staff anywhere. Buses are clean and fast, we were satisfied with them. Missing some cultural evenings (e.g. concerts) - our stay was at the end of September. But maybe at main time (June-August) they would be available, please check it. Small town with a very good beaches, they makes us feel happy.Guest review byKrisztinaSlovakia - 8.0
Not your normal seaside holiday resort.
Not your normal seaside holiday resort. The freeport as a back drop can be a bit of a shock but is soon overlooked. The Village is quaint with ample facilities, but not the place for people looking for nightlife. Lovely. Great time had by all our family.Guest review byGrahamUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Msida is a great location to stay being perfectly placed to visit the busy areas of Valletta, Sliema and St Julian's. The marina is amazing with some of the best restaurants in Malta just a short distance away on foot or by Uber or Bolt. Buses run to all parts of the island from stops within walking distance of the centre. Breakfast at the Busy Bee in Msida is a must as is a visit to their ice cream parlour in the evening.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Cospicua is a place for quiet people.
Cospicua is a place for quiet people. It is a good base for travelling. Ferry to Valletta is good there and back. Bormla has buses to everywhere. A round island tour is great for sightseeing and you see more. The fruits confections and bakeries are very very succulent. I liked the soil in Malta`s fields with people in them and crops, a great change from Spanish islands bare lava environment.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom
