I relocated here for a day to stay closer to the airport, having come from Bel Ombre—a remarkably scenic area that is a must-visit for travellers. However, Bel Ombre has very few restaurants, most of which are expensive and widely scattered, making it challenging without private transport. Without a car, our experience was quite difficult—until we finally rented one. In contrast, Mahébourg is far more tourist-friendly, offering numerous dining options and a pleasant seaside setting all within walking distance. Surprisingly, the overall costs were considerably cheaper than Bel OmbreGuest review byGaneshavishwaa VeluswwamyIndia - 10.0
Nothing was lacking
Nothing was lacking The 2nd floor villa with a balcony view to the garden and sea was private with a superb vista it had a very well stocked kitchen with excellent cooking facilities. Every attention to detail had been given with pottery and art it was aesthetically pleasing. provisions were easy to get and at short distance to obtain. what wasn’t evident from its description was its peace and privacy which for us gave the restorative and restful holiday we required.Guest review byAnnaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed for a day at the Shandri Beachcomber (bought a day pass) and the snorkeling from their beach was fantastic . Absolute amazing location but I wouldn't stay overnight there. Way too exensive for a dated resort and we weren't impressed by the quality of food and drink (it is an all inclusive resort) but you can't beat the location.Guest review byMariaAustralia - 10.0

Excellent location in an area that boasts greenery and nature at its best. Tamassa Bel Ombre is located next to two golf courses, a natural reserve and barely minutes away from other landmarks in Mauritius (south). Roads are safe - so it's easy to drive around but if you are after a complete relaxing holiday, venturing out of Tamassa is purely an extra then. The resort is fully equipped and offers a great opportunity for swimming, snorkeling, para-kiting in a well protected and clean bay.Guest review bySaidMalta - 10.0
Mahebourg is a vibrant transport hub.
Mahebourg is a vibrant transport hub. The people are friendly and eager to assist in finding places and any needed information. The market is a must visit. I ate at the market food stalls and at Bo'Valon Mall.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

I came in with some reservation due to the wind that was considered to be a problem by other visitors. Some others were ranking the West coast over the East Coast (we were on the East Coast) but after visiting the entire island, we were very happy about our choice.Guest review byAlbrUnited States - 10.0

No ATM to draw cash.. most shops only deal with cash. Blue bay has a bus stop that takes 15 minutes to get to Mahebourg from where you can take a bus to any part off the Island. The Blue Bay Beach has absolutely clear and still water making it a wonderful experience just to laze in the WaterGuest review byVijendraSouth Africa - 10.0

I stayed here with my 3 kids, the kids club looked great although we didn't use it. We stayed for 3 nights and that was enough for us to break the city routine of our everyday life. Krishna from the concierge organised a fun day out to Chamarelle where we saw the 7 sand earth, giant turtles and the magnificent waterfall. We ended the day at Curious Corner which the kids (and I loved).Guest review byMonaUnited Arab Emirates
