- From $465.99 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.9Good - What previous guests thought, 257 reviewsThis hotel really surpassed my expectations! Every member of staff was so polite and friendly and most even knew my name and room number. Dinner and breakfast was from a set menu, unlike the buffet meals I had experienced at other hotels. The food was unbelievable (especially the beef tenderloin) and was a beautiful candlelit meal by the sea. I arrived late, after lunch had been served, and there was no food but the chefs were so kind enough to make something just for me The infinity pool overlooking the beach was beautiful and the beach is more private and quieter here making it my preference over the nearby flic en flac beach. A fantastic experience, would definitely recommend for a relaxing holiday by the sea! Thank you to all here for making my stay so memorableGuest review byShannonUnited Kingdom
- From $1,061.42 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 486 reviewsHotel has the best location, it is on Flic en Flac beach, where it has the best view that you can get over Le Morne. There are several big names hotel along the same beach (hilton, maravandi villas, sofitel, sugar beach, la pirogue), but none of these have the view that Sands Suites have. Also the beach is much better integrated to the hotel with the infinity pool next to it, in comparison with the other hotels, which are somehow separated hotel versus beach. Rooms are very big, very comfortable, bathroom is something special, very big, with a big dressing included, a separate (with door) wc, both shower and bath tub provided. A special note for the personnel, which are very professional, very well mannered. Sports equipment included.Guest review byAlinaNecRomania
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Wonderful - What previous guests thought, 458 reviewsUnique and stunning accommodation. We wanted to stay somewhere more interesting than one of the massive Mauritian chain hotels and this place blew us away. The breakfast was EXCEPTIONAL- farm fresh and delivered to your private cottage. We made a lovely fire at our cottage and watched the sun set. Also incredibly convenient location to the Charmel waterfall and ebony forest and Le Morne.Guest review byEleanorUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 404 reviewsThe location and the service were excellent. We stayed for 3 nights and would go back tomorrow. The location is remote and quiet and you have the feeling of being completely isolated. The views and surrounding areas are beautiful and the view from the view bar is also spectacular at sunset! The staff were incredibly helpful and always happy to assist.Guest review byOliverUnited Kingdom

Walking on the beach was fun, and the water allowed easy swimming even for the not-so-strong swimmer. The food carts added restaurant variety. We had good meals at Bouganvillea and Chez Pepe, but also enjoyed eating in and watching the sunset. Lovely shopping, interesting people, and the public bus service worked for us. However, it was interesting that the same trip was free outbound and then cost 100 rupees (3 people) for the return trip (with no tickets issued).Guest review byDivyaSouth Africa - 10.0

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise. Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there. I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily. Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.Guest review byAnnaItaly - 10.0

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius. Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common. Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We liked the area close to the Riviere Noire Reserve and it was convenient for the quieter beaches on the south coast. We recommend a guided tour of the Ebony Forest Reserve. We had a fascinating day out with a very knowledgeable guide and saw a lot of birdlife; the views out to sea are also stunning. Be warned: driving in Mauritius is not easy, even with satnav! We got lost several times, especially around Port Louis. If you choose to go to Port Louis, we recommend using the local bus. There is a bus stop two minutes' walk from the apartment (shortly before London Way supermarket). You can pick up a bus at about 7.30 am and return on a 119 bus at 30 minutes past the hour from Immigration Square near the waterfront of Port Louis. If you want to eat out, the Happy Rajah restaurant on the main road serves good value Indian food. The fish thali is particularly tasty.Guest review byVirginiaItaly - 10.0

Sure La Preneuse is the nearest beach, though If you're looking for the best beaches around, take that trip to Le Morne beach, it's worth it. We went to the only Thai restaurant in the area,'Ousaporn', indeed an oasis in that small town, great Deco, felt right, the staffs were admirable, the food was succulent but portion were quite small disproportionately over-priced . A day at the beach at Flic en flac is worth the tour, watch the sun set into the deep sea, then hit one of the restaurant around the area.Guest review byYogeshSpain - 10.0

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping. it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.Guest review byDragicaUnited Arab Emirates - 8.0

Albion is a Mauritian village , located on the West Coast off the beaten track & away from the tourist holiday hot spots. There is a local palm shaded beach with toilets & changing facilities, to enjoy safe swimming & magnificent sunsets. Food & other supplies are available at the local Albion Mall Dodo Supermarket Living with the local Mauritians enhanced our holiday experience as we got the know some of these friendly and gentle people. You will need a hire car and Google Maps to get aroundGuest review byPeterSouth Africa - 10.0

Flic'en'Flac is the best place to stay on Mauritius, especially if you're visiting Mauritius in July. North was windy, south rainy but west side just perfect. It is a nice, vaste sandy beach with pine trees and palm trees, nice hotels and resorts, bars, restaurants and street food.Guest review byAndrijaCroatia - 2.0
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel.
Financial exploitation is the title of this hotel. Financial exploitation defines the taxi drivers. Financial exploitation dominates the boat rental services. Financial exploitation extends even to the zoo. Exploitation is the main theme, and as a city, it offers nothing enjoyable.Guest review byMohamed Zaher - 6.0
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.Guest review byUgoBItaly
