There’s a bit of construction happening outside, which does not interfere with you having a great time. The hotel is being run by a highly friendly hospitable family with all the members taking part in looking after you - they are cooking, cleaning, showing you round the island, arranging tours for you, speed boats if you want to explore other places, everyone speaks perfect English. The rooms are clean, spacious and well decorated. There is a no plastic policy in the hotel, which also makes it environmentally friendly. Tea, coffee and breakfast are available in a comfortable lobby area. You can also rent bikes (including bikes with child seats). The staff are very friendly with the kids as well, i could even sometimes leave my son with them while working, which was extremely convenient. The wifi connection allowed me to hold multiple zoom sessions. All in all, i highly recommend this place to everyone who wants to explore this beautiful welcoming island!

ItalyI loved the atmosphere, the attention to details in and outside the rooms and with guests too. Food (breakfast and dinner) is delicious and healthy. Good position, 3 minutes walking from the bikini beach. Staff is fantastic, they pick you up and take care of you luggage, they organize the excursions for you giving you water, food and umbrella for the sun. Rooms have a/c with dry function and ceiling fans. We really felt cuddled. Thank you Noor for your kindness!

SingaporeThis is the 5th time we were in Maldive and among all local hotel that we had been through, Belmar beach gives us the best experienced. Below are the reasons:
1. The hotel room & toilet were clean and very functional - I would give a rating of 9 out of 10.
2. We have a beach front room and was very convenient to the beach with beautiful view and lots of privacy, the beach was clean and not even dry leaves, (everymorning there will be cleaner cleaning up all the dry leaves) - 9 out of 10.
3. The in house reef was also another plus point, without the need to travel any place further and we get to enjoy our snorkeling - 8 out of 10.
4. Everyday , we enjoyed our lunch and dinner there because the hotel has a very good chef. We are not easy to be please with food but for this chef , we give a thumbs up - 10 out of 10.
5. Activities - we went for lobster hunt and we had 2 lobster plus 1 fish catch for our dinner. we went for sunset fishing trip and we caught 19 fishes in 2 hours. They knows exactly which is the spot to catch the fish, so Sunset fishing is a must go activities, likewise for Lobster hunting. and we have 4 fishes for our beach front dinner , which was a surprise arrangement by the hotel staff - 9 out of 10.
6. The island is very well located , as most activities are not too far away from the island and that make it convenient without having to take hours just to reach the activity location - 9 out of 10.

South AfricaWe stayed at Aria Beach for our last week of a wedding anniversary holiday. When we arrived and told Sam, our host, that it was a wedding anniversary trip he upgraded us to the duplex apartment at no extra charge. Sam is a fabulous host and has done a great job of ensuring that the rooms are comfortable and luxurious and very well equipped. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and it's obvious that they pay much attention to detail. Sam was in the process of opening up the smoothie bar while we were there so we enjoyed many delicious fresh juices and smoothies. The hotel is right on the beach and has lovely deck chairs set up under the trees right at the ocean. The hotel has a number of lovely areas to chill from the seating in the dining area to the pool to a fabulous 'tree house' deck with bean bags. We highly recommend this accommodation!

From the very moment you step into the Maldives, Lily Resort takes hospitality to a whole new level. Even before arrival, the hotel reaches out to arrange transfers, ensuring a seamless start to your vacation. While we initially opted for a domestic flight and speedboat (not recommended, as you lose half a day), our return by seaplane was nothing short of perfection—quick, luxurious, and topped off with a VIP car greeting at the airport. Pure bliss!
From the second you land, you are treated like royalty. Greeted by the general manager, guest relations team, personal butler, and even a live music orchestra, you instantly realize you’ve arrived in paradise. The attention to detail is impeccable—your butler takes care of everything, from a buggy tour of the island to offering a refreshing cocktail and cooling face towel after your journey. Whatever you need, they are just a message away.
Overwater Villa – A Slice of Heaven (10/10)
Stepping into our overwater villa was like stepping into a dream come true. The room was spotless, beautifully scented, and elegantly furnished, featuring: A massive bathroom with both a jacuzzi bathtub and a luxurious shower. Thoughtfully provided amenities—toothbrushes, razors, combs, shower caps, slippers, plush robes, and endless towels. A private infinity pool with a jacuzzi, filled with perfectly warm, crystal-clear water. A unique outdoor bathroom, where you can gaze at fish while taking a shower. A super-comfy king-sized bed with the freshest linens, plus a cozy daybed ideal for lounging with premium-quality TV and music systems. A fully stocked minibar—soft drinks, alcohol, snacks, and treats, all included! A spectacular glass floor panel, giving a mesmerizing view of marine life beneath your feet, day and night. Reliable high-speed internet—no lag, perfect for video calls and streaming. Everything in the villa was designed for absolute comfort—10/10 perfection!

The trip was truly incredible! We stayed for a week and had a wonderful time, thanks to every individual who worked at the resort, and everyone who had a part to play in putting our adventure together. From the moment we stepped off the boat, we were greeted by the owner and some of the staff, who couldn't have been more helpful throughout our stay, their attention to detail was phenomenal.
The food in every restaurant was lovely, and there was enough to keep any palate satiated throughout their stay, along with a plethora of drinks options, whatever your tipple. The location itself was fantastic, surrounded by a magical reef that was teeming with wildlife, from colourful fishes, to turtles and reef sharks. Travel further afield and you can see manta-rays up close and personal, that one excursion was particularly awesome.
If you want to be active on the island, the gym is adequately stocked with a enough equipment to keep you busy, and you can use the variety of water-sports equipment too, as well as a nice spa facility that offers expensive, but very enjoyable treatments. If you don't want to be so active, your time can be whiled away simply ogling the incredible turquoise waters, and the soft white sand that envelopes the island.
Overall, we hoped that our trip to the Maldives was going to be special, and it exceeded our expectations in every sense, particularly the spell-binding scenery, but also the staff, they were awesome. We enjoyed celebrating our 20th anniversary, and we will no doubt return to celebrate another milestone in the future.

We returned to Gangehi Island Resort after spending our honeymoon here ten years ago — and honestly, it felt like coming home. Very little has changed, which we mean as a huge compliment. The same peaceful atmosphere, the same warm smiles, the same effortless kindness from everyone on the island.
The resort still keeps its original Maldivian charm — natural, simple, and beautifully laid-back. The tropical vegetation is lush, and the sea is that unreal shade of blue with amazing coral just off the beach. We spotted reef sharks, rays, and even sea turtles while snorkeling.
The weather was a bit mixed during our stay, but that’s part of island life — and the staff made up for it in every way. Giorgio, the General Manager, surprised us with a complimentary upgrade from half board to full board — such a generous touch, thank you!
The restaurant buffet is uncomplicated but always delicious, mostly fish-based, freshly prepared and served with genuine warmth. The dessert corner deserves a special mention — fresh tropical fruits and homemade ice cream every day.
The spa offers excellent massages, and our excursion (even with rough sea) was great fun with beautiful snorkeling spots. The romantic dinner at sunset, with our own waiter and chef, was truly unforgettable — especially the aperitivo at the overwater restaurant.
In short, Gangehi remains an authentic Maldivian gem — friendly, relaxed, and made for pure relaxation. We loved every minute and will surely be back again.

We just returned from an unforgettable 10-day stay at Villa Park Maldives, and we couldn't be more grateful for the incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, everything was seamless the warm welcome, the stunning surroundings, and the exceptional service made this trip truly special.
A heartfelt thank you to Pratima, who went above and beyond throughout our stay. Her kindness, professionalism, and thoughtful attention made us feel truly cared for. We were especially delighted by the beautiful room upgrade, which made our time even more magical.
Every detail was perfect from the crystal-clear waters and white-sand beaches to the delicious food and relaxing atmosphere. The snorkeling excursion was also great and we had the chance to see and swim with manta rays and turtles (we couldn't see the whale shrk unfortuntely).
Villa Park is a slice of paradise, and thanks to the amazing team (especially Pratima), our journey was everything we hoped for and more. We’ll carry these memories with us forever and we can’t wait to come back!

Our stay at Lux South Ari Atoll was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the warmest smiles and outstanding hospitality. The staff consistently went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. A special mention goes to Ahmed from the cleaning staff and Elena at reception, whose attention to detail and care truly enhanced our experience.
While we won’t name everyone individually, we deeply appreciated the impeccable service across all restaurants and the efficiency of the shuttle drivers. everything was amazing, we had a wonderful beach villa, 2 rooms, huge and comfy bed, swimming pool and the level of cleaniless is out of this world!
the best thing about this place is the way they run things, mainly THE STAFF: kudos to our lovely hosts Lucas, Diana, Lily, Nasaril, and especially SAMEERA who always went over his head to guarantee us the best possible experience. (he even brought me some cigars from 70km by seaplane!)
Also, shout-out to the cooking team! the food was really michelin star quality. The wine selection is unbeliveble, and the wine guys really know what they are talking about.
Honestly, this place is so well organized it should get 11/10 we will surely return next year!

Fantastic stay at Diamonds. Very smooth transfer service via seaplane and from the first second in the staff made me feel so at home. The island itself is actual paradise on earth. I stayed in the Bungalow and due to it being low season it felt very private. Everything felt fresh and new, plenty of activities to do like snorkelling and yoga or just to relax and escape the world. Loved watching the seaplanes land from my balcony. Food was amazing for an all inclusive, two different restaurants, a buffet and plenty of different options every day. Cockatils very strong! Really didn't want to leave.

It was a great experience. We was with 2 baby girls under 2 years. The staff was helpful- Anna guest relations was always in touch with us and help us with all administrative questions. We even spoke with one of owners Giovanna she was kind with us and very nice. We lived in water villa and it was amazing. The coral reef was perfect we even saw the manta near our villa. All island Nika is beautiful green , and very clean. We will be back with the pleasure. Thank you

The food is absolutly delicious. Lot of variaty.
The water activities are very nice and is a must to try it.

An amazing snorkelling beach -no boats or travel required -just thousands of colourful fish and turtles, perfect white sand and palm trees. The concession stand sold delicious, fresh-picked fruit-watermelon, papaya, bananas. We loved the Coccoa beach restaurant and the Black Anchor and the Mango House had fabulous lattes and desserts.

The most beautiful sea I have ever seen in my entire life. And mind you, I have visited many seas in many countries! For food, I recommend the restaurant at the Dhiguveli hotel and the Teapot restaurant. Getting around the island is very easy; you can reach any place quickly on foot. Don't miss going to the sandbank at one of the ends of the island.

I didn't like that the island lost most of it's green and I didn't see the wild nature I prefer. There was a lot of construction going on the moment I was there, I felt discomfort because of that. And maybe in 1-2 years it's going to be over I think. But on the other hand there's just amazing diving on the house reef and nearby reefs. There's a lot of nice restaurants and there was no day I felt bored.

It is a small enough island to walk around. The locals are extremely friendly - always saying hello.
There are 3 restaurants all along the west coast. Compass seems most popular. But all are good with same offering of food.
There is a fair amount of building going on at the moment as they gear up for more tourists.
We used South Ari Dive for our diving trips. They are professional and friendly.

We enjoyed 7 days on the island. The rooms are very clean. The food is AMAZING! Everyone from staff are kind. The resort is sustainable, they try very hard to recycle and repurpose almost everything which is really nice. All inclusive is the smarter choice, trust me😄
The snorkeling is really fun! The whole island stands on coral reef and there is a lot to see! Maybe bring your own equipment, although you can rent. I don’t recommend the visit to the local island, nothing to see there

It was not my first time in Maldives and my experience there was disappointing compared to my previous trips in other resorts. The quality of service is poor and it’s a shame because the resort is lovely and the staff are nice but lack professionalism.

You need maximum 3 days to complete all trips, any more than that would have to be someone who loves water sports as these are the main activities in this country, anyways.
Bring a mosquito or any insect repellent, you will need these after a stroll on the shores or anywhere there are plants.
Also have an anti-nausea pill if you are the seasick type.
Taxis have a fixed price for each location, check that out.
Alcohol in the resorts is expensive but then again that's all you got.
Best to pay all meals or include dinner in your package as there are almost no restaurants outside, depending on the island, and if you find one it's either a chips or coffee spots.

A Wonderful Beach Holiday. Necessary structure: shops and cafes are available. The ability to pay with a bank card, as well as in cash (USD, MVR). Good exchange rate in all places. I was pleased with both Mathiveri and Mathiveri Finholu: the beaches are clean, the sand does not burn your feet, and there is a comfortable "coolness" in the shade of the trees.

The jetty area offers a fantastic viewpoint for spotting nurse sharks, and the island is ideal for snorkeling with vibrant marine life. It's conveniently located not too far from Male' city, and nearby sandbanks add to the charm. The island also offers exciting excursions and diving trips, making it a perfect destination for adventure and relaxation.
