The staff was very warm and helpful during check-in and helped me with the luggage. Thankfully there is a lift that gets you up to your room floor. The room was spacious but they also gave me an upgrade to an even more spacious room. Loved the free in-room mini bar, free-flow snack bar and free wines that comes with the room, they made the experience even greater! Sunset views from the room was a bonus. It was also located really close to the shopping streets and the windmill was 15mins walk away. But if walking is not for you, it is also close to the bus station that takes you the the train station in 10mins.

    Our stay in Boulevard 5 our for a weekend will be remembered for a long time! The place is perfect, neat, clean, cosy, everything is detailed with soul! Location in front of the beautiful beach strikes with incredible emotions! The staff is super friendly and helpful! Near the apartment you can find a lot of places to eat and have a chill time. The train station, shops and city centre is in 5-7 minutes by foot! We will definitely return for more long stay in near future!Thank you for your excellent job and wish you more visitors!

    I was traveling many times to Haarlem, but it was my first experience at this hotel. I'm so happy with my choice, the room was so comfortable, staff are so friendly, delicious food and breakfast. I stayed 4 nights without any complaints. 15 minutes to walk city center, location great, my recommendation book with breakfast. Definitely, I will stay again at Carlton Square Hotel when I visit Haarlem .. recommended 👌

    A lovely town on the Dutch coast. Great for the beach, the dunes and access to Haarlem, Amsterdam and beyond, with regular buses and trains to both Lots of lovely places to eat (and what I believe to be the best chips in the world, at Fritures D’anvers) Wonderful ice cream at San Remo Cafe Mio Great for tapas Can’t comment much on the beach bars as we’ve not really used them A nice little selection of shops, you can get pretty much everything you need for your stay, right on the doorstep. 3 supermarkets all within a few mins’ walk of each other, plus lots of lovely smaller shops for groceries too

    Staying in Haarlem was an excellent experience.

    Staying in Haarlem was an excellent experience. Haarlem is a wonderful community with an Old European vibe. We particularly enjoyed the healthy biking lifestyle. It was a pleasure seeing everyone traveling by bike using such safe bike lanes. Fantastic restaurants and shops. Very walkable. Haarlem became the biggest surprise highlight of our vacation.

    The actual town was just a town, nothing to see really except local shops. There was a WW2 bunker/museum just along from the hotel but the Google information about opening times was not accurate, I was stood at the locked front door when Google said it was open. Check before planning a visit.

    A modern tower block next to a MacDonalds, and a large dual carriageway. Facilities for dining and socialising incredibly restricted and dull. Seems to be full of workers - smoking outside the front door. Bedrooms claim to be deluxe, they are clean and pleasant - not deluxe by any stretch of the imagination.

    it was not clean,windows were filty and floor also.chairs were broken put together with tape,no hairdryer no broom no can or wine opener.pictures on booking.com look better then it is .lot is missing.noise from neighbors till 8am in the morning.you have to pick up your linen packet but no towels are included and not knowing that you dont have towels if you come in late . it was a beautiful place but it needs new furniture and stuff in it.for 2000 dollar it was to much the cafeteria is very nice with great food.there is no market to do a few groceries . we were there not for vacation but we had a dead in the family .

    Everything is outdated and looks tired. Needs a spruce up for the price being charged. To charge for Linen and then provide torn sheets. No towels. Dirty and broken shower. Narrow uncomfortable beds...the list goes on.. Just not a nice experience overall and regret booking this place

    If this means the town itself, well, there are more historic and "prettier" Dutch towns but it has everything you need. The 'centre' is hard to find but there is a station from where you can get to Den Gelder, Amsterdam, etc. Bike parking in the station is NOT secure. There ARE NO CAMERAS anywhere. The supermarket, Jumbo, has a wide range of items. I ate twice at the restaurant 't Schippersrijk" and it is absutely EXCEPTIONAL. Love lakeside setting , nice ambience and excellent food and service. If you want to explore North Holland, then this is a good base.

    Zandvoort was a good base with shops and restaurants. We visited the Circuit Park. We also enjoyed visiting Leiden by train and Kinderdijk UNESCO World Heritage site by car. We ate at the Bella Italian restaurant near the railway station and various other places.

    For me the human-scale of the houses is Haarlem's greatest gift to the WORLD today and is the reason why I always come back as long as I can. Another attraction is that there are so many cute, little streets tucked away, so there are lots of places to walk through sampling the quiet charm which is NOT TOURISTY at all. The inhabitants clearly take great pride in what they grow in front of their doorsteps. For me it is the kind of heaven that humans can make if only they try.

Instead, we went further afield and upon the advice of the staff we planned our route slightly different. The staff are very very competent and knowledgeable, always smiling and making sure their guests have everything they need. For us…our time there was too short but nevertheless a fantastic stay.
