- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 22 reviewsThe resort Bay of Many Coves lies hidden away in a bay by the same name in the Queen Charlotte Sound part of the spectacular Marlborough Sounds. It is a jewel, truly a luxury resort very well worth the price. Amazing attention to detail showed up in all areas, from the comfort of the apartment to the nightly turn-down service to the availability of little snacks all day long and much more. The staff was friendly and sociable and very capable of sensing when some assistance would be helpful. I especially appreciated the gentle attention I received during mealtimes - which is important to a solo traveler. Which brings me to the meals! Breakfast was delicious and offered many choices while the evening meals were just superb. I had signed up for the 5 course package and was impressed with every dish: flavor, variety, presentation, use of local products when possible ... Michelin worthy! Bay of Many Coves also has some wonderful trails to explore. The view from their Lookout Point is well worth the steep climb (the resort provides hiking poles: take them along). I also checked out a kayak one day and enjoyed exploring the bay and checking out the Pied Shags (karuhiruhi - cormorants) in their nests, feeding their almost grown chicks. I had an unforgettable 3 days stay!Guest review bySummerUnited States
- From US$54.79 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 590 reviewsThe atmosphere there is very peaceful and calm, which I needed as I was attending a family funeral. and I think everybody needs this in our modern, frenetic world. All the people and staff were truly lovely. It had a special, clear, tranquil energy and it was wonderfully hot and sunny so the pool was welcome and the holiday park was very near all the lovely spots around Picton and Waikawa, which are stunning. The cabins are brightly painted and clean looking and the shower block and kitchen are immaculate. I loved it.Guest review byPaulineNew Zealand
- From US$163.20 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,885 reviewsThis hotel was a delightful surprise, extremely well located, great views, nice short walk into town for coffee or meals. Our ground-level room had a beautiful glass door opening onto a lawn that was unexpected. Nice bed & comfort level all around. Location well situated for turning in rental car & catching the ferry. Honestly, that was the only reason we stayed at this hotel and Picton, but wished we had booked more days. Very very pleasant! Feel this hotel is a cut above all the other choices in the area!Guest review byJoeyUnited States

We were there for the annual Marina 2 Marina race which is a fun event to take part in. Picton is a nice place to visit so not just the town where you get the ferry to Wellington - it's way more than that! Good range of shops and restaurants to look at, great playground on the foreshore for the kids and a nice place to have lunch and enjoy the stunning view of the harbour. Plenty of boat cruise options that take you around the sounds and some good walks to do around the area.Guest review bySimonNew Zealand - 8.0

Truth is I've lived here all my life. You have done an awesome job in restoring these apartments a solid 10 / 10 in my book. What a transformation from the old days. As for Blenheim it's self it's a nice place but a few too many grapes and pine trees along with rest homes lolGuest review byAndrewsNew Zealand - 10.0

We enjoyed the interesting and free to enter Havelock museum. The public toilets are clean and well looked after and there are a number of local cafes all within walking distance. It is an easy walk to the mail boat departure jetty.Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

My stay was cut short due to Covid =lockdown, however the 2 nights i spent here was great, would recommend this hotel to others. Very clean spacious and well located for vineyards. Opposite a café and shop area. 10 minutes drive to Blenheim or 7 to Renwick. Friendly locals and welcoming to solo travellers.Guest review byDeborahNew Zealand - 10.0
Stunning location in a lovely rural setting.
Stunning location in a lovely rural setting. Abundance of wild birds in a beautiful garden setting containg fruit orchards. A very relaxing B & B where the hosts have added so many little extra touches eg chocolates beside the bed, M&Ms, good selection of teas. There is a pub about 2 miles away which serves stunning renowned beef burgers. Jill and Peter were wonderful hosts. We would wholeheartedly recommend the Owls Rest!Guest review byDerekUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lochmara Bay has so much to see and do and has beautiful scenery. Peaceful and quiet if you don't mind the odd speedboat or jetski. Lochmara Lodge is a fantastic option for people stopping in from tramping on the Queen Charlotte Track or visiting by boat (20 mins from Picton) - the accommodation was excellent as was the food and activities on offer. They even take your bags boat to door and back! Activities include roaming the stunning gardens with unusual forest artwork, enjoying the wildlife in the forest and marine life from the viewing boat, feeding the animals, kayaking, swimming when warm enough, lying in the hammocks!!! Big shout out to the staff who work hard and are helpful and friendly.Guest review byAnonymousNew Zealand - 8.0

This was probably the best stay for us in New Zealand. Sylvia and her family gave us warm welcome and made us feel like home. Spectacular views from their property and we had everything we needed for. The property was very clean. We even had dinner with them and discussed a lot of things about India & New Zealand.Guest review byPradnya AshokIndia - 10.0

Ward is a peaceful destination after a trip from Christchurch, on the main highway to Nelson and I only heard a few heavy trucks pass despite being in motel nearest to the highway. Fortunately I had tea food with me as I arrived after the local food seller had closed after 5pm.Guest review byLynetteNew Zealand - 8.0
