- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 820 reviewsWe stayed in Nelson for four days and at Beaches for three nights. We selected Beaches as closer to the Tahunanui Beach and were not disappointed. The facility is very clean and rooms comfortable and well stocked. Initially the traffic sounds in our second floor room were a concern but were greatly reduced by heavy sliding doors and curtains. The management of Beaches is exceptional. Jackie and her partner Glenn are very friendly and within a few minutes you feel like family. Both are helpful in suggesting local places to see and dining opportunities. We were kindly offered rides to/from the airport as well as local sites if we needed. Taxi availability in Nelson is poor. Jackie really made this trip special for us.Guest review byPAULUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 988 reviewsI was told that staying in a motel was an important part of the New Zealand travel experience and I'm so happy that I chose to stay in what definitely deserves to be rated as the best motel in NZ. Everything about the place was just perfect, from the incredibly friendly reception and helpful tips and recommendations to the beautiful, spotless room with every thing you could ever want or need. I actually was quite taken back by how well equipped the kitchen was with everything that one could ever want. Thank you for all of your kindness and a really lovely comfortable stay. I hope to return!Guest review byEmilyUnited Kingdom

Close to most restaurants but on a quiet street so no issues with noise. Sofa bed was comfy, and we slept comfortably with 5 people in the room. Everything is really well set out in the rooms and the park. Staff were helpful and the rooms had everything we needed. All in all pretty great!Guest review bySashaAustralia

Nelson has a lot of speciality stores and a lot of food options. The Markets in the weekends are not for those looking for a bargain but do support local and NZ made and although some were costly, there was a lot of selection of goodies. Stoke the Bach Restaurant was staffed with lovely young girls, and the food was excellent and value for money The Arden Monaco where we stayed has limited room facilities and is not staffed outside of working hours, but the beds are comfortable and with very dark woodwork old paintings and very heavy doors, the facility was well equipped with heat pumps and hot water.Guest review byKimNew Zealand - 10.0
This place was not actually in Stoke but Richmond.
This place was not actually in Stoke but Richmond. However there is a path where you can walk to Stoke in at about 45 minutes. Richmond has many shops and supermarkets. Stoke has two supermarkets and a few shops.Guest review byChristineNew Zealand - 10.0

Loved the friendly people, very creative and arty outlets, and artists, lovely eateries and markets, lots to do and see. We unfortunately got caught in the bad weather and were stranded for two more days - would have been great, but too wet and flooded to do anything else. Not Nelson's fault though! - We will be back to pick up where we left off!Guest review byJoNew Zealand - 8.0
