We took a ferry from the harbour to Waiheke Island and caught the hop on hop off bus. We were late leaving the hotel and the HOHO buses were only running every hour as it's not peak season yet - they run more often in another month. The island is worth a visit but more time needs to be allowed to do it justice. Car hire is worthwhile to see the sights outside of the CBD, but not necessary for the CBD sights eg Sky Tower, Weta Workshop.Guest review byRuthAustralia - 10.0

Loved how much Wellington has to offer. We would do much more in the short time we were there. I would recommend staying more than two days, which was the length of my stay. Plan the things you most want to see and try new things. Kisa restaurant (Middle Eastern on Cuba Street) is amazing if you like this type of food. It was recommended to us, and it is delicious.) Plan trips and restaurants. So many to choose from so rather than confuse yourself with which ones, make a list, sort out the top of what you want to try and then those you miss this trip, let them be on your next.Guest review byRichardson - 10.0

Lots to do and plenty of cafes did not get in the outdoors much due to the weather but are coming back and expect to do some walks and cycling. Went to Caravan and Camper Show at Mystery Creek which was excellent. Also went to Raglan and visited a business in Auckland. Hamilton Gardens enclosed gardens were fun with good cafe. There is plenty to do, we are active relaxers and had a wonderful time cycling and walking. The Gannet safari tour exceeded expectations. There are plenty of good restaurants and at least a couple of great ones, Mister D restaurant is our all-time favorite.
