Definitely needed another day or 2.
Definitely needed another day or 2. We managed a full day to Peles Castle, Brasov and Bran Castle - which is highly recommended. These places are full of history and charm. Not to be missed. We also managed a half day at Therme; a unique beautiful place, although over crowded. Old Town is magical and also unique. Threw in some shopping time but we still have a lot to explore in Bucharest. We will visit again soon for sure.Guest review byBlakeCMalta - 10

The hotel was warm, friendly welcoming and convenient. The shuttle to and from the airport worked well. The hotel was clean and there were helpful amenities such as tea/ coffee and water in rooms. The restaurant was good value with a varied menu , food was great, served promptly. All staff spoke English, and all were friendly and keen to help. Location was perfect for prompt connections to flights. There are good public transport links into the city too. There is no lift, but this was not an issue as staff helped to carry bags. lovely location and good communication to begin with, with the owner however when showing faults of the inside room they did not agree although there is proof. There is mould in bathroom and the smell is very overwhelming despite leaving the windows opened. I could not stay for more than the weekend with dust/dirt of the room honestly. The rooms are beautifully decorated and spacious. It’s a good location as everything is within a 20 minute taxi ride. The staff were so friendly and accomodating. The hosts were extremely kind and responsive. They allowed our group to use all the amenities. I strongly recommend. We took advantage of the snow and made a snowman in the yard. Getting around is unbelievably hard and time consuming- not for the faint of heart! If possible, avoid car rental as moving around is a nightmare 24/7 and parking is almost non existent in entire city! City is unkempt, filthy, smelly and very congested. Could be beautiful but, unlike any other European city, they do NOT cut grass, clean sidewalks, roads, or manage decrepit buildings at all. They let huge buildings collapse before repair and cover them with huge drapes/ signs/ advertisements. Garbage only collected at night due to insane traffic volumes during daytime hours. Heaviest building on the planet, the Palace Parliament has unkempt grounds- there are rose gardens which no one weeds, acres of green grass which could look beautiful for tourists but are entirely left to overgrowth. The airport is not great at all, the staff are not friendly, and the available food is terrible. the food is so overpriced for an airport and does not look fresh. In the Duty Free, the staff are on their phone and do not want to help. The toilets are disgusting and covered in faeces or broken locks. So, as an American, I'm viewing through a lense of someone who lives in a safe space (away from the cities of USA). Balotesti seems like a safe place to walk around and visit small markets (for food, ice cream, etc), see some WWI/II memorial, and be close to Bucharest, Otepini. This is the 3rd time we've staying in Balotesti and I would absolutely recommend staying here.Guest review byGaryUnited States
