United KingdomWe stayed here whilst walking the Alpe Adria trail. It had everything we needed and was clearly a favourite of the locals. Unfortunately we'd already eaten so didn't have an evening meal but the breakfast was delicious and the scrambled egg were the best of our holiday. They grew their own apricots and made wine. They left a couple of bottles in the room to sample on the house and they were delicious. The hosts were friendly and welcoming.

I'm so lucky that I stayed at Oton's apartment during my visit to the Brda wine region. The apartment itself is great. It has a good amount of space, with comfortable bedding and huge terrace with an epic view overlooking a valley full of vines. The best part of the place, however was the generous hospitality by Oton. He's a passionate and creative winemaker. He welcomed me when I arrived by opening a bottle of the wine he produces and chatting about the region. The next night I brought some steaks that we grilled with his friends who kept showing up. We did a tasting of his wines together which were really interesting and a great reminder of what a unique region Brda is. Oton is well known among winemakers in the region for his hospitality and openness. During my visits to wineries, whenever I mentioned I was staying with Oton I got a knowing smile, often followed by stories of long nights sharing wines at Oton's home. The location of the aparment is perfect for exploring the region's best wineries, most of which are a few minutes away by car. I'm definitely planning to return soon. Brda is one of the most exciting wine regions I've ever visited and the winemaking community there is incredibly welcoming.

Our family was travelling with two small-ish children, and I really enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. There was a gorgeous patio where the kids were running around to give the parents a moment of peace :). The breakfast was bountiful and delicious and we enjoyed their dinners also, where they adapted the menu to our needs and wishes. We also bought their home made marmelades. Generally we had a great and relaxing time, the hosts were very kind and authentic, gave us many clues on local travelling. Would return for sure.

There's something very special about staying in a winery, but Kabaj Morel offers so much more.
The decor of both the hotel space and room was tasteful and elegant, and our bed was super comfortable. But the real reason for staying here is the outstanding dinner with wine pairing they prepare for their guests - it was the highlight of our Slovenian trip!
Tina and her family are incredibly helpful and gave us lots of recommendations, which we were very grateful for.

Great place to stay in a really beautiful village! The hosts were more than accommodating and organised a place to eat for us as well as transportation which was really helpful because we weren’t travelling by car and were travelling before the season. Great breakfast as well!

Great position on the top of the hill with a fantastic view. Evening relax in the terrace emerged in an extreeme silence was just amazing.
Breakfast was really fantastic.
Owners are so warm and nice people and makes you feel you visiting your family!

Beautiful views of the Brda hills. Tamara is a wonderful host, she really helped us get the most out of our time in Brda. Breakfast is great, lots of fantastic local and homemade produce. Highly recommend a tasting of their superb natural wines!

Our room was exceptionally large and beautiful from a design perspective, the staff couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The restaurant was also excellent, both wait staff and chef. A real highlight was the cellar.

Dobrovo was a very nice area with some nice wineries, highly recommend Edi Simcic ~ Felix was amazingly fun. It was rainy during our stay, so we will unable to do ebikes, however this would be a great activity in better weather. Belvin was a nice restaurant nearby with grilled meats and vegetables, along with salads and pizza. Maravida House is a great Airbnb with a wonderful property (3 rooms) and a very kind and helpful host, Jacob!

Super quaint and tiny. Loved it and the views but super quiet mid week - the town was pretty empty except for other travelers. Resto options limited mid week - so plan ahead and do your research. There’s a grocery store ~2 miles away and a bakery en route to the grocery story so you can stock up there if you need to. I’d def recommend Šmartno - but shoulda planned to be there on a Thur or Fri evening (not Tue and Wed) to get a different vibe. Wine bar in town is wonderful, as is the olive bar restaurant (tiny!! All home made!). We also hired a private wine guide one afternoon (Slocally) thoroughly recommend!!

The nature was stunning, and the locals were amiable and calm. The local wine and olive oil were delicious. I suggest you try a Briška Hiša for dinner or late lunch. Just plan your trips ahead, and don't trust Google Maps, as it has led me through some very wrong turns.

A beautiful village in an amazing location.
A beautiful village in an amazing location. If you want Tuscany without the crowds, come here! We stayed for a week and I'm glad we had this much time as there was so much to do. Every day we went for a long walk or we rented e-bikes so we could explore even more of this beautiful region. Also recommend the wine tasting at Klet Brda in Dobrovo as it's great value. A few things to note: Public transport isn't frequent, so our host graciously picked us up from the train station and we hired a driver to take us to the train station on our departure. Groceries are availabe in Dobrovo and Kojsko.
