This hotel is excellent. The location is only a 5 minute walk from the Night Bazaar. The rooms are large, bright and modern. The bed is so comfortable. The aircon is quiet, and the wifi is good.. We loved the extra little touches, such as the free snacks and drinks. The hotel bikes are also free to use and are well maintained. The gym (also free) was large, well equipped, and very clean. Excellent breakfast, plenty of choice to please every taste. Above all, and without exception, the staff are all lovely.

The room is brand new and was way more spatious than it seemed in the photos; the bathroom is equipped with a comfortable shower and high-end smart toilet. From the moment we arrived, the staff were both incredibly friendly and attentive. Our bags were taken to our room and we were given an overview of the facilities and food options. There is free tea, coffee, water and some snacks at the reception kitchen, which is a really nice touch. The room itself… wow. We stayed in one of the lake view cottages and it was an absolute slice of heaven. In the middle of a jam packed busy travel schedule, this was exactly what we needed. The pool area is small but clean and idyllic. We enjoyed catching some rays in the late afternoon and then in the morning before checking out. Only two sunbed, but most of the hotel rooms have private pools so we didn’t find this affected us. The location is prime for the White Temple in particular. They offer free bikes which we used to cycle over for the final hour of opening, which was the perfect time for a quiet visit. We were tempted by the morning but we were too relaxed to get up and leave in the end. I anticipate the morning is even more of a quiet time to visit the temple though. You MUST get the Pad Thai. It was exceptional and different from any others we’ve tried. Definitely had their own twist on the dish which we loved. If you’re looking for a completely unique stay, outside of the tourist areas for one or a few nights, I couldn’t recommend this place enough. A final shoutout to the staff who immediately did a ‘nervous’ of our room after checking out, and returned my partner’s shorts which he’d left. Those are the touches that make all the difference to a stay. Thank you Doowall Hall!

Immaculate little resort next to a nature reserve, about 10min by car from Chiang Saen / Golden Triangle. Super friendly and helpful owners and staff. Restaurant with decent breakfast offers, excellent cooking for dinner. Nice pool area. Bungalows have a small elevated terrace for some privacy. Perfect for those who want to stay outside the city in the nature or for a stop over on a motorbike trip.

We stayed in a mountain Suite. It was fabulous. . Wonderful room exceptional size with massive bathroom bath and separate shower. The most amazing views. . Breakfast outstanding with so much choice . Dining outstanding too . Staff extremely attentive and always going that extra mile. Nothing too much trouble. Definitely will be going back four nights just not long enough. Very secluded location but all part of the charm.

Top notch, I arrived slightly early and was granted early check in. The room was efficiently designed, extremely clean and the bed was comfortable. They provided two glass bottles of drinking water. It was a nice change of what appeared to be the standard of low quality drinking water in plastic bottles. Another nice feature was the nearby 7-11 which was well stocked, much better than any other I had been to in Chiang Rai.

an old high-standard large hotel that has aged beautifully and of course you can feel time in its atmosphere, but it filled me with a good nostalgic feeling back to the late 80's, early 90's. Large rooms, classic wooden furniture, really excellent breakfast and perfect location. If you're in Chiang Rai, it's hard to find better!

It's a small town compared to Chiang Mai.

It's a small town compared to Chiang Mai. Very quiet and with little nightlife, which is why I liked it. The night market is really well-stocked, with live performances sometimes, good prices, and you'll find some nice things to take home. It's well-connected to all the attractions. Obviously, tuk-tuks are more expensive than buses, but the drivers are sometimes friendly.

A great city to do a border run, particularly if you stay at Fortune Riverview Hotel Chiang Khong - which seems to be the nicest accommodation in the area. We enjoyed our stay here quite a bit and would return.

I ❤️ Mae Salong.

I ❤️ Mae Salong. The clean crisp air and many local ethnic groups make this a great place to visit Love staying at Shin Sane GH or Little House GH. Each still offer great prices for cottages and Shin Sane still has the original rooms from wooden house and at a shoestring price for this region Love eating at Yunnan noodles down the road a bit past 7 Eleven and Salima’s. There’s a pure veg place heading towards the cathothic school nearby.

My highlight was the Hill tribe trek. The guide was excellent. I learnt a lot about the people, lifestyle and customs of the local people. Coming from the city, it made me appreciate the basics in life such as preparing lunch with bamboo and banana leaves.

Chiang Khong, a lovely little town next to the river. Views are amazing and the food is good. It is not very big so staying for an extended time may be dull for some. Great for relaxing and quiet. Excellent for walking and/or riding bicycles.

Acceptable for one night. You need a car to get to the hotel. The rooms are not soundproof. Quite loud from the traffic. The hotel is located directly on the main street. The breakfast is not bad and with good coffee to make yourself with a coffee machine.

Very laid-back city.

Very laid-back city. Many adventures to be had in the area around like tea plantations, Golden Triangle, and the local temples. However, the city itself is really very nice. So many good restaurant options - in fact too many to choose from. We will need to come back and explore further on the next visit.

I liked to have riverview. We had two single beds that we rearranged such that they were mire close to eachother. Not perfect but ok. For one person the bed was too hard, for the other it was good. Was great to be on the (small) balcony to look at the river, but there were no seats. I used the pool, but at the time of the day the two high building on the side avoided all sunshine to warm up the water. We also had to use our own towels from the room, one per person. Checkout was fast without checking the room. Few hours after we left, we were in Chiang Rai already, staff called us that they we left behind a watch. They agreed to send it to our home in Chiang Mai. Great service that we really appreciate.

The shower head was to 50% clogged, and the water was...

The shower head was to 50% clogged, and the water was deflected sideways splashing all over. This was the case in both the rooms I had booked! The TV remote control did not work, as the batteries inside were corroded and bloated badly.
