It was the best! The hotel is very clean and convenient overall. The room, the beach, the pool… the bed was I think the comfiest hotel bed I’ve ever slept in, the bathroom was amazing, wide, clean and practical. The staff was amazing! They were so friendly and all spoke very good English. The beach is really good too. At first I was scared because they warned us there might be jellyfish but we didn’t see any and everyone else was also enjoying the ocean, so I don’t think it’s common. The sunbeds get busy during the day but we always managed to find one. There are really nice restaurants/bars and massage places on the beach too next to the hotel. There is happy hours during the day at the pool bar and you get 1+1 on the drinks! The breakfast was good with selections wide enough. We haven’t tried the hotel’s restaurant but ordered room service once and the food was delicious. Overall, it was a top resort experience and we definitely want to come back.

In all my years in Thailand this is the absolute best hotel I can recommend. This is a true 5 star hotel. The staff is outstanding and the service is exceptional. The breakfast is perfect with everything you could need, and so is the service. Unfortunately only stayed one night this time but will be back soon.

It was outside of the city roughly 15 min with taxi so very quiet place and few people at the beach. The workers there were always very helpful f.exs. had an issue with my ac one they when I told them they immediately ordered a technician and 1 hour after I told them he had already been there and fixed it. Mai Khao Lak is simply fabulous—there’s no other way to put it! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by this beautiful resort. While it is a bit removed from central Khao Lak, the feeling of isolation is far from a downside. It’s a peaceful retreat, and with central Khao Lak only a short 15-minute ride away, the resort’s shuttle service makes it easy to stay connected (just remember to book your spot in advance). Despite the resort's large size, it remains quiet and uncrowded. Each block is designed with its own spacious pool, so you’ll never feel like you’re competing for space. The variety of on-site restaurants is a highlight, offering a wide selection of dishes to cater to every taste. The buffet breakfast is great for adults but even better for kids offering heaps of kid-friendly options. There's local dining along the beach. These spots serve up delicious, authentic food, and you’ll also find laundry services at an affordable 80 Baht per kilo. Massages also available. We had 2ad, 3ch and booked two rooms: one pool access room and one deluxe room. The resort did an excellent job of accommodating our request to have the rooms close together. The pool access room great, with direct access to the pool from the small decked seated area outside the room. There are also adult only areas with poolside bars and secluded, quiet areas. The staff at Mai Khao Lak are friendly, attentive, and always ready to help, they made our stay effortless and enjoyable, their customer service 5 stars! We initially thought khao lak was too quiet, however there is so much to do if you research your trip. we found Facebook groups helpful for ideas, recommendations, and even booking private drivers. This made exploring the area easy and stress-free. Overall, Mai Khao Lak is a perfect getaway for families or couples seeking a peaceful, luxurious retreat with plenty of amenities and activities. Our experience was excellent, and we would happily stay here again!

I loved the fact that was located in a long beautiful beach with amazing sunsets and close to the jungle and 10 min walk to an elephant sanctuary! Also I loved the fact that was away from any town and quite secluded as we wanted to rest and enjoy the nature! However, it had options for food and also close by on the beach were 2 bars where you could eat, and enjoy drinks and sunsets! The resort is divided in 2 sections : the Villas build in 2012 with 2 types of villas ( with pool and with jacuzzi) that was more secluded and more quiet , had its own restaurant with Thai food very quiet and refined and its own two pools also quiet and good for lap swimming ! It has also a small gym and from the pool through a beautiful pine tree area you could walk in shade to the beach and the external Memories Restaurant ( Thai Food) Bar& Memories surf school and beach massage ( where you could pay by card as well)! The apartments area was also nice and their longer pool was amazing to use at sunsets ( was also empty)! It had a very nice beach bar with mediteranean food ! We preferred to have dinners there or we ordered at our pool Villa pizza from there as it was delicious! The apartment side had also a big nice restaurant for breakfast that was used for the families with all inclusive option, we never used it as our at the Villa side was nicer but for families with small kids the apartment part is a better option ! We have older kids and wanted a more quiet place !

Fantastic stay at Ayara Villas for our family of 4 (1 toddler and 1 baby). The hotel was so clean and staff were wonderful. There to help with anything you need. Breakfast was delicious and fantastic selection with both western and Thai choices (with real bacon too). Room was modern, clean and big. The maid did a great job everyday cleaning the room. Such a wonderful stay and can only recommend the stay. The hotel was a little bit of a walk from the centre but we knew this. It suited us just fine.

A beautiful Beach front -full serviced -Resort hotel with full amenities. The Villas were spacious with balcony. Breakfast buffet had Egg and noodle station, with fresh fruit, fruit juices and cold and hot breakfast buffet offerings. Besides the vast beach area the hotel also have a huge swimming pool. restaurant food was tasty and priced reasonably. Excellent service. Overall great value for money

A calm and quiet place that also has many places to walk. It is recommended to rent a car for a while because everything is relatively far from each other. Lots of good restaurants and also a really great market for shopping and food.

If you want late nights, loud music and a party life, don’t go to Kho Lak. If you want rest and relaxation, great food and no crowds this is the place. Pick your time of year and the town seems deserted.

Not as busy as Phuket, less people but lots of restaurants...

Not as busy as Phuket, less people but lots of restaurants with reasonable prices. Very family orientated, no night clubs & pole dancing girly bars. Khao Lak is what Phuket was 30 years ago but is becoming more popular.
