Friendly, professional and always willing to help. The hotel shuttle drivers were friendly and very punctual. We experienced the earthquake having breakfast and the service staff ensured our safety by evacuating us calmly and professionally…they must have felt scared and worried too. Kudos to the great service attitude! The concierge staff was really helpful throughout our stay, helping to book the shuttle van and responding last minute as we missed our train from Yilan. He also helped to carry the luggages down 7 floors as the lift were under review after the earthquake. Thank you so much! Great spread for breakfast and hotel provided free food for afternoon snacks and evening snacks. Loved these! The jacuzzi pool with hot springs water was very relaxing. It is a quiet town and a walkable downtown area.
It is a quiet town and a walkable downtown area. The beach is nearby and a surfing mecca. Most restaurants close at 6 or 7pm and by 9pm the town is completely shutdown except 7 Eleven. I stayed in Jiaoxi for 2 nights only so that I could do the trip to Turtle Island but my impression is that the place merits a longer stay as I didn't have time to visit the hot springs, Our Lady of Wufengqi Sanctuary, or to undertake any of the local walks. I ate at HoYa restaurant where the staff and other customers were very helpful in finding out what I wanted to order.
