- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 331 reviewsI have been looking forward to write this review, because this place is the best place we have ever been!!! And we have traveled a lot..From we booked to we left yesterday, we have felt so welcome and been taken so good care of! Excellence is the best word, and in every way! Hospitality, staff, food, the bungalows, housekeeping and the setting is spectacular, on one of the most beautiful beaches on Zanzibar. It’s easy to go to every parts of the island, because they have the best drivers on the planet. So calm, safe cars, on time, waiting for you while you do your plan for that day. They organize massage for you outside your bungalow, private barbecue, and set up trips to different activities on the island that you want to see. And the prices are good. What is good to know is that Jambiani Villas have three properties on the beach. The one in the middle has the restaurant for breakfast and other meals. We stayed on the property 350 meters north, but loved that breakfast walk every morning on the beach! The bungalow had the most amazing sea view, and every morning we sat on the balcony taking it all in, before we jumped into the turquoise water and walked for breakfast. They also offer room service for free, if you want your breakfast in your house, but I recommend the 5 min walk! It is also good to know that this is Africa! One row behind, you meet the locals and you see the poverty and the big differences. But you also see how important tourism are for the locals. We buy their beautiful handmade things, they got work on different properties and they are extremely friendly. We were totally safe even after sunsets, walking to a restaurant along the beach.Guest review byAina oeklandNorway
- From US$150 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 678 reviewsWe stayed here for 4 fabulous nights early October, after a couple of nights in Stonetown and a safari on Tanzania and Kenya! We were so glad we picked this resort due to it's location, size of the resort and value for money! Jambiani is an authentic village in Zanzibar, with seaweed farming, right outside the resort on the beach, so you can have a taste of the true culture. However this does not take away any comforts or luxury from the resort - all the rooms are situated around this amazing pool, which then had views of the beach. The staff were amazing, and the food was excellent! You also had alternative restaurants just short walks up the beach. Make sure you go for a sail and/or snorkel with "Mr Coconut" on a traditional dhow.Guest review byLeighAustralia
- From US$150 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 948 reviewsAbsolutely loved my stay here! Facilities were amazing - massive pool and lots of deck chairs around the pool or at the private beach. Staff were so friendly and remembered my name whenever they saw me - it’s the little things! Rooms were amazing and spacious. Loved my balcony for morning chill time. Great central location. This resort is a great respite from people trying to sell you things on the beach or constantly trying to talk to you when you’re tanning (as a solo female traveller, this can get so tiresome.) definitely worth the splurge to stay here and feel so relaxed and soak up the sun. My flight was quite late at night and they let me store my belongings, use the resort and shower before it was time to go also :)Guest review byChristinaAustralia
- From US$30.35 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 43 reviewsIt was not our first time at Zanzibar Dream Lodge, but first time booked via this website. We love a laid-back atmosphere there, good vibes, very friendly staff. The owner - Kassim is an awesome person, always willing to help and doing his best to fulfill his guests all needs. Zanzibar Dream Lodge restaurant serves a very delicious food, including fresh seafood and flavourful fruits. A nice beach is just few steps away and you can use sunbeds and umbrellas free of charge. If you are looking for a genuine place, where you can charge your batteries with positive energy, it is a perfect place to do so!Guest review byDorotaPoland
- From US$145 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 400 reviewsThis hotel was a very good surprise. Everything was so welcominh and comfortable. Since the security that help us taking the bags to every single person that works there, everyone help us having a wonderful experience. When in high tide the sea looks like a pool, beautiful. At low tide you can walk on The beach or play a football game with locals. The restaurant has one of the most amazing foods I ever tried. The chef really deserves an award. Jambiani will stay in our hearts and if we come back to Zanzibar we definitly will be in Blue Oyster again.Guest review byJoaoPortugal
- From US$65 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,506 reviewsI came here after climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, my main goal was to sleep, swim and relax after the hike. Overall, perfect place if you are looking for a little hideaway. Lovely sea view from my room. A number of hamocks, couches and sunbeds along the sea front to chose from to chill and sleep. Didnt feel overcrowded, very relaxed atmosphere, food, drinks, massage all well pricedGuest review byJuliaIreland

The restaurant is amazing, the breakfasts are epic, the rooms are modern and beautifully designed with comfy beds. The pool is uber clean and massive. The beach is the best and the onsite kite surfing school is amazing. Simon does a great job running the joint and we can’t wait to return to paradise.Guest review byGarnetAustralia

If you have only stayed at Sheraton, Marriott, Ritz, King George or similar hotels - this is not your place. But if you are looking for clean beaches, clear sea, delicious food, peace, close contact with nature, friendly and courteous staff - this is it. There are many bars and small restaurants along the coast that offer a variety of food. In addition, in the town (of course African) you can buy products that are very fresh, and the people are friendly. Here you can buy handmade jewelry and souvenirs from the local population and the Masai.Guest review byK.ZgurovBulgaria - 10.0

This is not a touristy location... it is off the beaten track... a village, by the sea, with an increasing number of resorts being added. I hope it does not lose its charm to the crowds. This is a quiet, special place.Guest review byFionaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Beautiful beach, warm and calm ocean to swim in. Lots of eating options, amazing people. Yes, there are people trying to sell you things on the beach - but was quieter than other beaches (Like Paje) and they are all respectful.Guest review byAntoinetteSouth Africa - 10.0
This place is a gem!
This place is a gem! A new hotel with a big heart, right by the ocean, surrounded by peaceful gardens and a stunning pool. The rooms are spacious and stylish, the breakfast is fresh and delicious, and very friendly staff. The connection to the hospitality school is inspiring—it's not just a great stay, it’s also supporting something meaningful.. It’s rare to find a place that feels this good in every way. Thank you, Palmera!Guest review byBISWAJITAUnited States - 10.0

Just up the beach from Paje town, a little quieter but thats what was nice. Wandered to different restaurants along the beach for lunch and dinner. Limited during off season but enough open. We came via Dar Es Salaam airport and ferry. If you can't get an e-visa before arrival, plan 2hrs to exit the airport. We missed our booked ferry and had to pay again for the last ferry on a different company. Used Zanzibar Quest to book the ferry and transport with exemplary service and support via whatsapp and email. The new travel insurance requirement $50p/p on top of the $50p/p visa fee is a scam that mars the experience. The amount of times we had to show our passport and visa / travel insurance was reminiscent of the cold war. Inefficient and overboard. So if you can fly direct to Zanzibar and use e-visa or have patience and a loose schedule. The drive to the Page beach area took about 1 ½ hrs with the first ⅓ taking ¾ of the time with a typical african road experience. Get a good driver. Driving licenses are issued by testing payment of fee. The driver booked by Zanzibar Quest was excellent. Great beach, wind was consistent during the afternoon to either kite or cool down. Bring sunscreen and mosquito repellent. Not a fan of the immigration process or the fees.Guest review byXavierUnited Arab Emirates
