Everything! Wasn't Farm Fritz the surprise we weren't expecting. Road tripping along east coast and had to do bourbon trail so stopped in for some cost effective accomodation but now wish we stayed for longer! The whole area is lovely and this accommodation was also. Super comfy, clean and quiet. Free parking a bonus. Location was great.

Amazing hotel. Large rooms with full kitchens. Comfortable king size bed. Large walk in shower with good pressure. Very spacious.     I was on a solo cycling trip across the USA and needed a cheap hotel (2star) to match my budget. I had stayed in a few and knew what to expect …. Or so I thought … this hotel was by far the best ‘cheap hotel’ I had stayed in on my 1200 mile cycling trip and better, by far. I even had to ask the owner why it was only 2 Star !! The room was spotless and comfortable and not worn out and tired like other cheap hotels. There was even a pool and breakfast was substantial and good. I’ve given this hotel a 10 rating because it was such a surprise to get such value and the staff were polite and efficient. Thank you for a great nights sleep, a hot bath and clean facilities 🙏 Rich. www.rapidrich.co.uk

    Simple but great. Warm dish taste good and Coffee was great in the morning. Bourbon bar is amazing and history of that building is unbelievable. I'm 100% sure that next time I travel to Kentucky and Bardstown area, I stay in Tallbot Tavern Inn.

    I lived in Louisville 40 years ago as a newlywed; my children were born there. But boy, has it changed! Downtown unrecognizable. Diversity! Food! Beautiful (well, not so much in the winter). A lot of stuff for kids to do, adults, too. You won't be bored. The only thing that was bothersome is the homeless/mentally challenged people on the streets, especially visible downtown.

    So many places close by the Camperse Mexican restaurant was a stand out, we also had great ice cream at Baskin Robbins, the Kentucky Horse Farm was our main reason and it was amazing! Also free the 2nd day!

    Bardstown is a hidden Gem.

    Bardstown is a hidden Gem. So many great shops, restaurants & bars. Very walkable & safe. We found great German food at Kreso's on 3rd st. Authentic European cuisine. The best I've had stateside. For drinks, the go to is a bar called The Volstead. Styled as a speakeasy, they claim to have about 1200 varieties of liquor. Their specialty drinks are GREAT. Many interesting shops of all kinds. Looking forward to another trip soon!

    We stayed in Frankfort for the distilleries in the area. We had a wonderful time. People were lovely, there was more than enough to do, and Frankfort is located between Louisville and Lexington, so a great location for the area. Lots of good food options, beautiful scenery. Overall, I would love to return to Frankfort.

    Shelbyville doesn’t have many activities or restaurants.

    Shelbyville doesn’t have many activities or restaurants. We stayed at the Best Western at exit 32 off 64 west. Only fast food restaurants and Waffle House for food. We did get a good pizza at Jeptha Creed Distillery at this exit.

    The Stave restaurant near Woodford Reserve is 'dive delicious' with fantastic southern food and a screened in porch. Ask for Wendy. Amsden coffee is good. Proximity of Versailles to the Kentucky Castle, spectacular horse farms, distilleries and both Lexington, and Frankfort is perfect.

    We stayed in Harrodsburg specifically to see my...

    We stayed in Harrodsburg specifically to see my Granddaughter who is in training in the Kimme Program. We were only a few miles from The Farm she is in training with which made it very handy to spend time with her. We now wish we had stayed longer due to the beauty of the area.

    Well with covid, not many food places open and lines of course were long. The whole eating area in the outlet mall was closed except a pizza and chicken place. But we had fun with what little time we did have. It is horse country out there and would love to see it when all green with horses out. Beautiful place

    There are so many choices of restaurants within walking...

    There are so many choices of restaurants within walking distance and they are all good but our favorite was the Old Spaghetti Factory. For dessert, I recommend the Fudgery right on 4th Street Live. Downtown is pretty sketchy at night so be aware of your surroundings.
