We loved Grand Rapids and there was so much more we could have explored had we had more time. We plan on coming back soon though! We loved the Lantern Festival and Meijer Gardens. Both were worth going back for! The only thing that we didn't care for was the traffic and busy roadways!!Guest review bySusanUnited States - 10.0
Clean and neat, amazing views, great breakfast restaurants!
Clean and neat, amazing views, great breakfast restaurants! So very many choices of hotels and motels depending on if you want a lake view or bridge view or city view. Beautiful downtown shopping area, touristy shops, fun restaurants. Definitely a tourist stop and stayGuest review byDanUnited States - 10.0
So much to explore!
So much to explore! We visited the lighthouses and sleeping bear dunes. Tried to explore the commons shopping area, but couldn't seem to get there. Could have used a better map. Hopefully we can check it out next time. Lots of road construction made it a challenge to navigate an unfamiliar city. Views were stunning along the bay. We hope to visit again perhaps next spring. Parking was definitely an issue. We passed on exploring some shops and restaurants because parking couldn't be found.Guest review byHarold - 10.0

I visited Detroit from MN specifically to see a concert by Queens of the Stone Age, but I gave myself time to see a few sights. The city of Detroit has a rich history that I've always been interested in. The concert was at the historic Fox Theater, and that venue alone is beautiful to see. I really learned a lot from the Motown museum and the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant Museum.Guest review byJeanaUnited States - 2.0
The staff was awful.
The staff was awful. It took me 30 mins to check in and I gave the man a physical credit card to pay for my room however they charged a different credit card because "they automatically charge the card you have on file at 6pm, all hotels do this according to the woman I spoke to" and added a $3 airport fee that was not explained at the time of check in. Simply letting me know what was going on could have made this a completely different review. but I realize customer service is a lost art. Simply refunding my card and charging the correct card could have cleared this completely up. Even if you are just a budget hotel being hospitable cost nothing and goes a long way. Take some pride in what you do.Guest review byCandacePeru - 10.0

We took a shuttle from the hotel to the port for a ferry to Mackinac Island and back to the hotel when it was finished. We only saw the town as we rode through but went back to a Jamaican restaurant for dinner. It would be fun to spend more time here to visit more of the town and what sites they might hold.Guest review byJoeUnited States - 10.0

I stayed in Kal-Zoo for two periods, and only visited the location close to the Train station and nearby school. It is a nice little town with good public transportation support (bus). This town, although quite remote compared to other US big cities, I do enjoy the serenity when walking down the street, with very few cars on roads most of the time.Guest review byCheng - 8.0

I was skeptical when I read the reviews before booking but the pictures looked nice so I gave them a chance. We checked in headed downtown Detroit for the draft came back with some dinner and a COCKROACH came running towards me. We then searched the room and found MANY dead ones along with a trap hidden behind the refrigerator. It was absolutely disgusting. I asked for my money back and said I would rather sleep in my car!Guest review byJessicaUnited States
