The check-in was easy and well described in our welcome message even though we arrived around midnight. The location was in a quiet neighbourhood close to the city center. The whole building had a cool and vintage vibe which translated into our booked room ‘the artists abode’. The room was executed very well and we both liked the style of the interior. We particularly enjoyed that the space felt as a small apartment with soul rather than an ordinary hotel room experience. We will definitely come back if we have the chance.

One of the highlights of my stay was the everyday changing and tasty breakfast. Each morning, I eagerly looked forward to the delicious surprises that awaited me. It was a delightful way to start my mornings and provided the perfect fuel for my day of exploration. What truly sets the Ocean House apart, though, is the serenity it offers. It's an incredibly quiet place, perfect for anyone seeking a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. I found myself relaxing like never before, with nothing but the soothing sounds of the ocean to accompany me. And let's not forget the view! The ocean view from the hotel is nothing short of spectacular. I spent countless hours gazing out at the horizon, watching the waves roll in and feeling completely mesmerized by the beauty of nature. It's a view that truly enhances the overall experience of staying at the Ocean House. The staff were attentive and went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable.     I went for a wedding and then a concert. Portland was a mixed bag. Delightful around the southern edges, but I didn't feel comfortable or particularly safe walking downtown in the evening. The crazies and street people seemed to be in charge.

    We only stayed one night as we drove through on to Crater...

    We only stayed one night as we drove through on to Crater Lake but the little we saw, was nice. We had dinner at Pine Tavern (Not sure about the name) which is next to Bend Brewery. Food was very good as was the service.

    Remember to bring napkins or paper towels and some floats for the pool if you're bringing kids along. The outdoor pool is wonderfully warm, even when the air feels quite chilly. I really enjoyed swimming there! They also have lovely, soft robes to wear to and from the pool, which adds to the comfort. If you're planning your stay, I highly recommend adding breakfast—it's absolutely delicious and a great way to start the day!

    Great town with huge amount of attractions. Traffic is challenging and construction adds to the challenge. Downtown is pretty sad, but has some good features. Restaurants everywhere, great parks, lots of entertaining things to do, and of course, the crown jewel of the University and the U. District.

    Don't be discouraged by the exterior! Clean, clean, clean room-- big plus! Jeremy checked us in and was absolutely fabulous! Excellent location despite the online booking which showed the location on the beach. We were within walking distance of the Prom and beach. The downtown area was so quaint and close!

    The town was quaint with great places to eat, stay, and...visit the ocean. We enjoyed it immensely. We ate at a great Thai restaurant called Lucky Thai Elephant restaurant. Delicious. We had coffee at the Human Bean. Wonderful!!!

    Salem is quite small and unfortunately the state capitol was undergoing building work (it's one of the main sights). Not too many shops and restaurants downtown but the ones I went too were very good. Good place for a couple of days visit.

    Astoria is a unique town in a unique location.

    Astoria is a unique town in a unique location. I love the architecture of many of the homes in Astoria and the way they are arrayed along hilly streets. The town is fairly compact so attractions are never a long drive away. Ships coming in from the sea to go up the Columbia river or returning to the sea lend interest as you drive or walk around the city. Astoria remains one of my favorite cities in the Pacific Northwest!
