This property was absolutely beautiful. The views were stunning, and our room was exceptional. I was very impressed with the staff and cleanliness of the bed and breakfast. My partner has food allergies, and they were extremely accommodating for him with our breakfast in the morning. The room was so comfy and adorable! We loved how big and thoughtfully designed the bathroom was. The spa tub and shower were both huge and we loved them. It was nice that the toilet area had a separate door for extra privacy, which was helpful while we were both getting ready for a wedding. We loved the fireplace and all the extra touches provided. We were pleasantly shocked the available DVD choices in the DVD library! So many new releases and popular movies. It felt as comprehensive as a Blockbuster, and honestly better than any options in a single streaming service. This hotel is low key, while also being perfect for a romantic getaway. We enjoyed the general vibe of the grounds, and the bunnies. I saw a review before booking that someone felt like the hotel was like summer camp for adults, and I completely agree, but in the best way!

My husband and I loved this hotel. We decided to splurge on a room with a hottub and a balcony facing the ocean. After a long, beautiful walk in the beach right in front of the hotel we came back to a good soak in the tub, sat on the balcony to watch the sun go down and then slept very well in the very comfortable bed.

Initially we were disappointed by Portland - downtown main area was pretty empty and full of people on drugs etc. After going on a coast tour we got tips on best areas and fell in love with it very quickly. It's all about the neighbourhoods. We loved the Rose Garden and the Japanese Garden was stunning (we have been to Japan and my husband lived there so have some comparison). We loved Alberta Arts District, Nob Hill, Powell's City of Books and the Saturday market by the river and farmer's market. We also saw live music in NE area and ate very well wherever we went. Just don't expect it to be a regular city with classic tourist areas or busy downtown.

Astoria is a unique town in a unique location.

Astoria is a unique town in a unique location. I love the architecture of many of the homes in Astoria and the way they are arrayed along hilly streets. The town is fairly compact so attractions are never a long drive away. Ships coming in from the sea to go up the Columbia river or returning to the sea lend interest as you drive or walk around the city. Astoria remains one of my favorite cities in the Pacific Northwest!
