Well, I was a bit disappointed in the surrounding city environments. The cityscape seemed disorganized and in desperate need of a more aesthetic appeal.. I rode through residential areas which I found to be most disheleved. Maybe because I am a retired educator I found the University area very uplifting, My reason for coming to Vermont has always been during the Fall Foliage season. I've beento the touristy areas at least 5 times and mostly stay at The Lodge of Spruce Peak in Stowe, VT. However, let me add The Lodge at Spruce Peak paled in comparison to the Hilton in Burlington. Hyatt could learn a lot from the Hilton.Guest review byValerieUnited States - 10.0

Breakfast was great but not enough.
Breakfast was great but not enough. Staff was rude disrespectful and unprofessional. Too expensive laundry room was small and dryer took too long. 11 large spiders on 4th floor bc of spiders eggs all over the windows that were open. Shower head had a loud squealing sound. Nice beds and linens were soft and amazingGuest review byTravis CaviolaItaly - 10.0

We where there for a wedding at the Wilburton Inn and Aspen Inn was a close by2 nights . The 2 nights were great Little Rooster Cafe for Breakfast and Lunch was truly a 5 star one of the best places I have had, try there Black Russian Sandwich for sure. I would pass on the Mulligans Restaurant and Pub, the fish and chips were over cooked and like mush. It was the worse Fish and Chips I have ever had. There were 7 if us and none of the main dish were good only the Salad dishes were edible. Just an FYI, the restaurant everyone recommend was closed for 2 nights :-(Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Amtrak station stop right on Main St., Variety of restaurants and values for both the vacationing couple and a family. Vermont Salvage is an interesting place to walk through and marvel at all the great merchandise which is organized very well. Variety of small shops, thrift stores, live music in some of the restaurants, brewery, small parks, pleasant friendly people.Guest review byBethUnited States - 10.0
First time to Vermont and we loved it.
First time to Vermont and we loved it. Rutland is adorable, however this time of year, many restaurants were closed 2-3 days a week. It was a girls trip, but will be back next fall with hubby. Shout out to Bailey’s Place for food and Trivia with TJ was a hoot! They have a designated fryer for those of us with celiac, so that was a real treat. We walked downtown trying to find as many of the murals and sculptures we could, and used Rutland as a base for all our day trips. Their location was central to them all. Don’t miss Wilson’s Castle and enjoy as many Creemies as you can find!Guest review bySusanUnited States - 10.0
Barre is a beautiful little town with fascinating...
Barre is a beautiful little town with fascinating architecture and sculptures, excellent restaurants and coffee shops, and special treats like the Kitty Cafe. And all this is easily walkable and there is plenty of onatreet parking. The folks are friendly and helpful, and you're not far from magnificent scenery, the state capitol, and Goddard College. I had most of my meals at the Ladder 1 - I sure hope I got the name right: the food was excellent, the beer selection great, and the waitstaff terrific.Guest review byJames - 8.0

We have visited the area many times, and this time was for a specific overnight event. Regarding Montpelier proper, there is little to do or see: the capitol is worth a visit, but requires little time. Despite what we read in a recent chamber of commerce publication, this is not a place for gastronomy: there is a good, but hardly noteworthy, Italian restaurant, and some small familiar ethnic places that we have never tried. The remaining choices are OK, serviceable. One recommendation would be the Capital Gound, for breakfast or lunch. Good coffee. The city is well placed for touring central VT.Guest review byAnonymous
