The people are awesome and we had fun!
The people are awesome and we had fun! The beach is fantastic for long walks or just relaxing. There is no shortage of entertainment and you are welcomed by everyone. I would recommend this place to all. Sea shells offers great food and right on the beach. The kospot offers homely meals. The hideout is an amazing bar for people to gather. We had a fantastic weekendGuest review byVanessa - 10.0

This quaint little town has so much to offer. The access to the forests with its fantastic hikes, loads of other activities and a couple of great restaurants. Marilyn's diner is a must visit if you are ever in this town. The team at the Treetop canopy tours are amazing.Guest review byNico WieseSouth Africa - 6.0

More of an upscale Florida-style residential community than a tourist destination, but the sandy beaches along the estuary are beautiful. With the lighthouse inexplicably closed, Seal Point - desolate and windwept - was a disappointment. Standout restaurant for the evening was Chokkablock. It's popular and you do need to book. We were able to reserve a table by email. For a relaxed lunch head to the excellent Coastal Collective cafe. The Superspar supermarket has everything you need for supplies.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom - 6.0

The restuarants were very expensive EXCEPT the new place called "THE KITCHEN", which we would highly recommend and is excellently run, very pleasant staff, spotlessly clean, tastefully done out, an area for children and value for money. Lovely breakfasts, coffee and homemade cakes. "THE KITCHEN" is run by a husband and wife team. WELL DONE to them.Guest review byJenniferSouth Africa - 8.0

Beautifully picturesque, peaceful, and isolated - Come to 'ERS' if you want to spend all your time on the beach or walking the surrounding short nature paths... All the other well known Tsitsikamma sights & activities are located +- a 25-45km drive away...and sadly the only way into Eersterivierstrand is a very rough and dusty 7km dirt road... not great if you didn't come in an appropriately rugged vehicle... Also, be sure to pack literally EVERYTHING you will need for your stay - incl. drinking water / ice / firewood / food and beach gear... buying something you had forgotten means traveling +-17km (to the thrift shop and back) at the N2 turn-off into Eersterivierstrand...Guest review bySonet & Eugene BarnardSouth Africa - 8.0
Kareedouw was a transit point for us driving on Route 62.
Kareedouw was a transit point for us driving on Route 62. Beautiful countryside, and experiencing more rural farm country compared to other parts of the Garden Route. I would recommended to drive this part of route 62 in order to see more of farming and rural areas.Guest review byPieterSwitzerland - 10.0

We loved the ocean right in front of us, having a perfect view from the terrace as well as from our bed and bathroom. We loved going on long beach or land walks and always felt safe. We ate at the Lodge, but also at a small restaurant in town which recently opened their doors. Service and food was good. Oyster Bay is a small village, thus easy to get around. It has one store with basics for everyday necessities. We like quiet places with minimum shops.Guest review byCorneSouth Africa - 10.0

Lots of great places to eat out, try a delicious pizza at Pili Pili Beachfront restaurant for example, just pack a blanket if its cold out, as its set up on a type of veranda, they do have outdoor heaters though. The beaches are lovely. Perfect surfing area with options for beginner surfers to advanced. Surfing with the dolphins was a huge highlight for my teenagers. There is a skateboard park. Lots of great factory shops of various brands in the surf village. Addo Elephant park is not very far away, so also worth doing a drive through.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

We just Luv this quaint little town, love that it's in the heart of nature yet it still offers fun adventures for everyone! Absolutely love the peace and quiet, the birds, the forest with stunning views from both mountains and sea. The suspension bridge at Stormsrivier Mouth is a Must See to experience. Marilyn's Diner and Tsitsikamma Village Inn & Hotel always worth a visit with great food, excellent milkshakes and of course the Flame Bistro has the best potato wedges, curries, wines and friendly efficient service. Riding a Sedway through the forest is great fun and the Canopy Tour ziplines has breathtaking views and is a thrilling experience!Guest review bySlater - 10.0

An epic place worth the 20 minutes diversion from the N2 Highway. Best kept secret is staying at the Ships Bell apartments overlooking the harbour - it's almost like being in Europe just with better food and value for money - you can stay a week for what you might be paying for 2 days in Europre for the experience, hospitality and food.Guest review byPatrick.in.London
