This was the best hotel in our garden route tour. Every detail has been looked after. The room had an amazing view, a wooden fire hot tub, fireplace, comfy bed, the people were very attentive and the pool and sauna were a very big plus. Highly recommended!

Hermanus is a popular destination town for both...

Hermanus is a popular destination town for both international and local tourists. We visited for two primary reasons, the first as a stop at the beginning of our Garden Route road trip and secondly in the hope of spotting whales. We were not disappointed on either front. On the morning of our stay we spotted two whales and a pod of dolphins from our accommodation. We took an early evening walk along the coastal path. If we were staying longer we would have definitely walked more of this path, I believe it runs for up to 8km in total. The town is charming with a friendly feel, we bought some fish and chips to take back to our apartment. There are great options for eating out or stocking up on groceries if you are are self catering.

The best part of Franschhoek has to be the wine!

The best part of Franschhoek has to be the wine! We visited 12 wineries in 3 days, 2 of which were on the Wine Tram. Thoroughly enjoyed them all! Staying centrally in a guest house was a good choice as it allowed us to explore Main Street with all its shops and restaurants at our own pace on foot. We liked the Tuk Tuk experience that we decided to take to a nearby winery and found it great cost effective fun. The scenery is stunning wherever you turn-- nice to just take it in at a leisurely pace. Food was excellent everywhere and the wine-- well, that's the icing on the cake! Small town atmosphere appreciated after a larger and busier Stellenbosch. Would go back in a heartbeat.
