Breakfast is included. I was born in this city and came to visit after many years of living overseas. I can wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to experience the city, but particularly to foreigners. The location is superb and well priced for what's on offer; but the main hook of this place is the BREAKFAST BUFFET! Absolutely delicious and AUTHENTIC food that reminded me of what my mother would make when I was a kid. Please try the soup every single day and don't be afraid to ask about the toppings for it (onion,parsley/coriander,toasted bread bits,arepa,etc.) so you can experience the meal as a Colombian would. If you stay here, the INCLUDED breakfast will be an opportunity to explore local cuisine and that's a huge plus in my books.

A baby safety gate is also available at Cabañas Cañon Del Chicamocha, while guests can also relax in the garden. The view was impressive and it was also interesting to see all the coffee plans around. The short walk to the hill was nice because we could see the two sides of the mountain.

Casa Barichara Boutique is a detached holiday home with a year-round outdoor pool, located in Barichara. You can enjoy the garden in fair weather. Free private parking is available on site. Santa Barbara chapel is 100 meters away and the Cathedral is 300 meters from the porperty. Utterly fabulous! Located at the top of town with spectacular view. Comfy beds in large airy rooms. Charming attentive staff.

At the guest house, every unit includes a desk and a private bathroom. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and really recommend it. It is at the outskirts of the town with a great view of the green landscape while being just seven wonderful, relaxing and absolutely safe minutes walk to the central square. Barichara is such a relaxing place and Artepolis is a lovely corner of it. We stayed four nights after a long ride from Sweden (40h) so we had three full days. One hanging around town and recovering the long trip, one doing the Camino real and strolling around town, and finally one where we went on a day trip by bus to Juan Curi waterfalls via San Gil, which is very easy. Perhaps it would be smarter with three nights and one extra in San Gil after the waterfall, but Artepolis made it absolutely worth the detour. Breakfast was typically Colombian and very good, and a beer or water could be grabbed all day by the fridge for a very low price. Everything is really clean and tidy and the owner is very helpful and kind. Bedroom and bathroom is super nice. No hot water, but that’s fine. It’s very relaxed here. The rooms are along a beautiful veranda, facing the garden and a valley beyond and has a couch for each room. A perfect place to sit and rest, for me usually with a cold beer. Enjoy!
