Initially I thought it was pricey, however after the stay I'm disappointed of myself that I didn't book it for longer.

Akira san the owner himself greeted me upon my arrival. He is very polite and friendly. Lodge staff tour me around the facility with a smile on her face. I had a great time and best experience during my stay.

Skiing and hiking can be enjoyed nearby, while ski-to-door access and ski storage space are also available on-site. This was such an unforgettable experience. We were supposed to stay for just one night but ended up staying 4! Okay, from the beginning. We had different accommodation in Hakuba, but we weren’t satisfied so we were looking for something else and found Dark Horse by chance. The moment we walked into the house, we were greeted with smiles and warmth. Andy, Rika, Momo and Hana create something truly special. We’ve stayed at hundreds of hotels and such, but this one will stay in our hearts for a long time. Everything is well thought out, you can see it’s taken care of down to the smallest detail, you can see it’s done properly and not just to be the cheapest. We felt so beautifully hosted. They also have an amazing sake collection to try, and the food is delicious too. Thank you again and we already miss it. I hope we’ll get the chance to meet again. PS. The area is popular for skiing, and ski equipment hire is available at this 5-star hotel. Beautiful property that is close to Happo One and Happo Bus Station to go to other mountain resorts. It was very clean and spacious with excellent amenities. We enjoyed the included daily breakfast and onsite Onsen. I communicated with staff at the front desk and on Whats App, and all my questions were answered promptly.
