AMAZING is probably the best word that can describe our 3 nights stay at “THE NAMKHAN” eco-resort retreat, situated on the banks of the Namkhan River. From we arrived, the personal touch, and care was felt, and the staff did their best in order to make us feel special, and welcome at all times - often greeted by our names in restaurant and bar, which make us feel even more wanted and special as guests Had the most amazing food served in their cozy restaurant, overlooking the river, breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner was so tasty, and well cooked, with lots of flavors, fresh herbs and vegetables from their own organic farm, were you can even join, and cook your own meal after picking your vegetables on site, next to the restaurant - lots to choose from on the menu, and we especially loved the Lao local food and taste, from the menu card - you must also try one of the wonderful drinks, when happy hour in Bar & Restaurant - served with crispy cashew nuts and local roasted peanuts - always a good start Lots of activities, yoga, spa, pool, games, “beach” and sports and gym - but in a relaxed and cozy vibe - no stress, just relax and feel good - loved pool area and facilities in that area with towels and cozy bar, free cooled water served at your sun bed - what’s not to like 15 minutes drive from hotel, you find Luang Prabang city, where you should go for a boat ride on the mighty Mekong River, reception can arrange a tour for you, or just use the APP linked to reception for booking your activities 6 times a day - free shuttle to/from city center You will find a small shop in the reception, with local products made by selected local women and projects - we loved the engagement in supporting the local community - and we will cherish our new breadbaskets We can truly understand why THE NAMKHAN is a proud member of “Small Luxury Hotels of the World” - Rooms well equipped and nicely designed and decorated for maximum comfort and wellbeing Thank you Carl, and...

The friendliness, attentiveness and assistance of the staff (+++), the most beautiful grounds, the very comfortable room with all necessary amenities. We will definitely come back if we are in Luang Prabang (maybe when it’s colder :-))! After the animated festivities of Lao New Year in the town, we could enjoy the peace and quiet. You can hear the birds and cicadas alongside the breeze of the wind in the coconut and bamboo trees. The pond is a paradise for fish, frogs, dragonflies and butterflies. Cute little geckos come out at night to stay warm on the walls. It’s an absolute heaven. Thanks for all the smiles, the little attentions, the managers checking up on us every morning. We never had to give our room number although I believe there are 30 rooms and the hotel was full for a few days: we felt right at home!

Everything! The road to Hillside is an adventure in and on its own right and also what makes this place unique since there’s nothing around you except for nature. Holger was a great host who made us feel right at home when we arrived and was available to help us having one of the best stays we had in Lao. Arranged a cooking class with locals (the highlight of our trip) and made sure we had a great time. The chalets are great and spacious and make you feel like you’re immersed in nature…because you are. Great food freshly cooked and a great swimming pool cleaned daily. I’ll put this is as a positive…you need a 4WD or someone to take you here, especially if it’s raining. We did it with our rented 4WD and it was a lot of fun but we took it slowly while we could see the locals being more confident with their normal cars going faster than us.

The location is perfect, close to the center while away from the crowd. The staff is really helpful and friendly, the guy from the reception booked a last minute private sunset cruise for us and we everyone pays attention to your needs. Breakfast, pool and facilities are really good too.

Simply a wonderful stay. The staff is so nice, helpful and welcoming. Everything was perfect : location (+free shuttle to the old town), food (outstanding breakfasts 🤤), very clean rooms. We definitely recommend for your stay in Luang Prabang and would be happy to come back. Thank you for everything 🙏🏻 Khop chay lai lai !

The staff at Homm were outstanding on all fronts. Friendly, warm and very efficient. We loved the breakfast selection and setting.

Loved everything about this hotel, but mainly the beautiful gardens and the lily ponds. The staff were fantastic. Great help from the front desk. Breakfast was a treat every day, eating in the open looking out across the pond listening to the birds singing. Dinner at Ma Da Laos was amazing!
