Excellent personally curated food (we're vegetarians) and drinks. Staff are exceptionally warm and attentive. All events are so personally done and yet give you a slice of what Zanzibari and Tanganyika culture is. Rooms are amazing, especially the ocean view villas - which had (for us) 3 different private beach access routes, plenty sunbathing spaces, and a private pool. An in-resort jungle running / walking path, outdoor gym, jetty for sundowners and snorkelling from, a very intimate spa and prepared excursions. Managers, especially Julia (/Yulia sp.), supported by Nivot, Alexandra, Mudi, were excellent.

Bawe Island in Zanzibar is an absolute gem! From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by its serene beauty and tranquil atmosphere. The island, just a short boat ride from the main island of Zanzibar, offers an idyllic escape with its pristine white sandy beaches, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and lush tropical surroundings. The accommodations were nothing short of spectacular. We stayed at a charming beachfront resort where the service was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile, making us feel right at home. The rooms were spacious, well-appointed, and offered stunning views of the ocean. The highlight of our stay was the island’s natural beauty. The food was also a major standout. Fresh seafood, flavorful local dishes, and a variety of international options were all beautifully prepared. Every meal felt like a celebration of the region’s rich culinary heritage. Bawe Island is a peaceful paradise that offers a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and natural beauty. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or just a quiet place to unwind, this island is a top choice. It truly exceeded all our expectations, and we can't wait to return!

good Morden hotel and close to the airport

There was a lot of variety, the food was plentiful, the staff was friendly and attentive and the restaurant was very clean and attractive.

Park Hyatt - Zanzibar This hotel gets an absolute 5 stars from us. Firstly the staff were so welcoming and kind making sure every detail was in place, going over and beyond. Always smiling and greeting us kindly. Thank you guys. The hotel was stunningly beautiful and so was our room. The room was very clean, overlooking the ocean, and we felt very lucky to get an early check in, which was badly needed after the very long flight from Copenhagen. The amenities in the room were 5 star and very beautifully integrated into the Zanzibar styled rooms. The view from the room was amazing and calm and at the same time lively with different types of boats sailing in and people playing on the beach, doing morning yoga, with little to no noise. The food was excellent and the presentation of it, even more so. Among a lot of other things, they had at breakfast table thirst quenching coconut water and the coconut guy was always all smiles and ready to prepare a coconut for us. The omelette guy also made the very best omelettes ever! The staff was very helpful in arranging tours and transportation with a very capable guide (Seif) and a very safe driver (Abdul), the other drivers we tried on the island drove like hell. On our guided tour of historic Stone Town, it became apparent that the highly humid climate of the area enhances intensive mold growth on the buildings, it’s just a part of the towns charm. I do hope though that the Park Hyatt can and will always protect their beautiful building and especially their high class bathrooms from this mold, as there was a moldy smell from the bathroom.
