Nice hotel, room was decent size but the bed wasn't comfortable (made some awful noises when turning over). Evening meal and breakfast was average pub grub. Very expensive for what we got. It was missing the little details.

The location was perfect for hiking in and around the area. The staff, the room, the evening meal and breakfast were all exceptional!
Amazing value for money.
The building itself with the backdrop of the mountains was truly breathtaking.
Highly recommended.

Cockermouth is a pretty town with many buildings of interest. Wordsworth's birthplace is there, but it is closed in winter.
The rivers Cocker and Derwent flow through the town with banks of daffodils in spring.
Plenty of small shops, restaurants and traditional pubs as well as two supermarkets.

Cockermouth has potential but is in need of more eateries, we stayed 3 nights and struggled to find anywhere nice for meals. The Bush is a lovely pub with good food but that's all we had to choose in the area.

Broughton Craggs is a few miles from Cockermouth and well...
Broughton Craggs is a few miles from Cockermouth and well placed for the Northern fringe of the Lake District. I was walking some of the English Coast Path from Bowness on Solway to St Bees and the location was fine for doing that stretch in bits.
The location was perfect. Have stayed in any hotels and accommodation in the area this is by far the best. Lot of the others the provided pictures flattered them with these the opposite they do not do them justice. So much space in the accommodation and the facilities were first rate. We opted the optional breakfast and glad we did the produce used were first rate. When next in the area will be my first choice (hopefully reviews like mine will not men it is fully booked)
So many positives: great location near the centre of Cockermouth, free parking close by, easy self check in. Attentive hosts, answered questions promptly. Beautifully styled hotel and rooms, comfortable large bed in a very clean spacious room. Large adjoining bathroom with big shower and toiletries provided. Good breakfast was included at a lovely cafe a couple of doors down. Had a fantastic stay.
Hidden gem, based in the centre of Cockermouth, just off the main street, with lots of choice of restaurants and pubs. Set in a quiet courtyard, this character property has been tastefully renovated and decorated, very comfortable, with both bedrooms having an en-suite and modern appliances in the kitchen. Good location for the Lake District but away from the crowds.
Hotel is in a very good location and is very clean. We knew that we had booked a small room but it was clean and comfortable with excellant shower.
The breakfast was very good and the staff were really friendly and helpful.
The breakfast box was greatly appreciated.
Would certainly recommend the hotel and would stay again if we come to Cockermouth
The apartment was a good size and was in the perfect location for the centre of Cockermouth and comes with a parking spot. It was close to the river and all the shops and restaurants/bars.
We arrived and noticed that we hadn't got any towels but by the time we had been for a quick walk we got back and they had been sorted out for us.
Fabulous little hotel in great location, room was lovely with very comfortable bed, lovely decoration and furniture and fabulous bathroom, check-in and out was super easy with the contactless system, parking excellent and the included breakfast at the local cafe was excellent, can't fault anything and would definitely recommend 👍👍
Beautiful flat, spacious, modern, comfortable and has everything you could possibly need! Spotlessly clean, has a lovely deep bath as well as a shower. Good quality toiletries. Kitchen even has a dishwasher and a large fridge freezer.

absolutely fabulous staff who couldn’t be more helpful as we arrived on the hottest night of the year. The hotel is fabulous and the food 8n the restaurant was great and they catered for our vegan friends. We loved Cockermouth too.
A nice family run country house hotel. Friendly staff. Dinner & breakfast was good, very plentiful & good value. While dog friendly, they were segregated in a separate dinning room - an excellent idea. Good size comfortable room.
It is a really unique place to stay in Cockermouth. Right in the centre and very quiet as it is set back from the main road. It is very cozy and it has everything you need for your stay. It is also dog friendly, which is a bonus!
Cosy and a super comfy bed!
Small open plan living area perfect for a couple. Log burner and a parking space an added bonus. Dog friendly! Great central location with an independent bakery literally on your doorstep!
Great location for the town & the wider area. Property was comfortable, decor tasteful & had everything you could want. Kitchen well equipped - including functional kitchen knives (which are a rarity !)
historic, large property, clean, fully equipped and a special treat delivered part way thru our stay! We used this as a base to hike/explore the Lake District and it worked beautifully.
Very good breakfast, very friendly staff. Nice area with beautiful garden and peacocks. Bar in the hotel, very cosy sitting area with very comfortable sofas.
